How to measure a plastic window for installing a mosquito net? How to correctly take measurements for a mosquito net. How to correctly measure a mosquito net for a plastic window.

In my renovation I got my hands on the windows. I have construction repairs, and that’s why there were plastic windows! (which is already pleasing), but there was no finishing - no slopes, no mosquito nets, and the windows themselves were not adjusted (they open and close poorly). The slopes were made (with some help), I’ll try to write an article later, but the question arose about installing mosquito nets. But first you need to measure them...

If you call a measurer + install mosquito nets, it will cost twice as much as measuring and installing the mosquito net yourself. I will definitely write about installing the mesh, but now I need to measure the mesh correctly so that it completely covers the window. The measurement must be accurate, otherwise the grid must be redone.

So, how is a mosquito net measured?

Everything is very simple, in order to make a mesh, you need to take the dimensions of the inner sash on which we will hang the mesh from the outside. That is, the sash that opens, as a rule, is half of the window. We measure its width and height, just like in the photo.

Then we transfer these dimensions to production; usually the meshes are made by manufacturers of plastic windows, they are made in 15 minutes, and they can do it in front of you. The average price in our city is about 600 rubles per square meter.

My sash dimensions are 1.47 meters by 0.6 meters = 0.88 square meters. Then multiply by 600 rubles, it turns out 600 * 0.88 = 528 rubles

We also need to buy fastenings for the mesh on the window; they cost pennies, about 10 rubles per fastening. You need 4 fastenings per window = 40 rubles.

That's all, it's so easy and simple to measure the mosquito net.

Let's watch the video version of the article.

Read the next part, read our construction site.

Possible without the help of a measuring specialist (see note at the bottom of the article)*. To do this, you will need a tape measure and some time.

DETERMINATION OF SIZES OF MOSQUITO NETS ON Z-FASTENERS, DOORS, ROLLERS

These types of mesh are installed overlapping the frame on the outside of the window. Finished design should fit onto the frame and completely cover the opening of the open sash. Determine the size of the future anti mosquito net very simple: you need to measure the total external height and width of the light opening and add the corresponding coefficient to the resulting figures:

  • mesh on z-fasteners (standard): +4 cm to height and width;
  • mosquito doors made of lightweight profile: +5 cm to height and width;
  • mosquito doors made of reinforced profile: +7 cm to height and width;
  • rolled nets (standard): +5 cm on top, +2 cm on bottom, +4 on sides;
  • rolled mesh (Italian): +4 cm on top, +3 cm on bottom, +4 on sides.

Before ordering a mosquito net, make sure that there is enough space on the outside of the window frame to install it.

DETERMINING THE SIZING OF THE ROCK MOSQUITO NET

Nets of this type can only be installed on windows with double-glazed windows. The structure is mounted inside the recess between the protrusions. The external bevel of the frame should not be too rounded or strong.
To determine the dimensions of the mosquito net, it is necessary to measure the width of the light opening between the outer protrusions on the frame and subtract one centimeter from the obtained data. For example, if the height according to the measurement results is 140 cm, the width is 40 cm, then the mesh size is 139 cm and 39 cm. When the mesh is installed, there should be a 5 mm gap around its perimeter for a special sealing brush.

MEASUREMENT VIDEO

WHEN IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO INSTALL A MOSQUITO NET

THERE IS A GRILL INSTALLED ON THE WINDOW

In the case where the grille is installed very close to the window frame (up to 6 cm), it will be possible to install only a rod mosquito net without any problems. Installing the mesh on z-mounts will cause some inconvenience. You will most likely have to abandon the rolled mosquito net, since its box is 4-6 cm deep and may simply not fit in the space between the grille and the window.

FRAME CLOSED WITH CONCRETE QUARTER

On windows where the distances required for installing mosquito nets are covered by a concrete quarter of the opening, only a rod net can be installed.

SINGLE LEAF RECOVERED WINDOW WITH EXTERNAL WALLS

On single-hung windows recessed into the wall, you can install any type of mesh, except mesh with z-fasteners.

OLD WOODEN JOINERY WINDOWS

Due to the peculiarities of such windows, installation of a rod mosquito net, as well as a net on z-fasteners, is impossible. Installing a roll mesh is very difficult to implement, but still feasible. However, this costs more than installing mosquito nets on other windows.

Self-measurement and calculation of mosquito net

Instructions for self-measurement and installation various types mosquito nets:

Self-measurement of the frame grid (expand)

How to correctly measure a frame mosquito net

Self-calculation of a mosquito net requires knowledge of the parameters and several useful formulas that will help identify the required values.

To calculate the dimensions of finished products, you must use the following formulas:

  1. Z-mount installation
    Mosquito net width = largest measured width (W2) + 50 mm
    Mosquito net height = highest measured height (B2) + 50 mm
    That is, it is necessary to identify the maximum values and calculate the allowance for fastenings.
  2. Installation on metal hooks
    Mosquito net width = smallest measured width (W1) + 20 mm
    Mosquito net height = lowest measured height (B1) + 20 mm
  3. Installing a mosquito net in the opening on plungers
    Mosquito net width = smallest measured width (W1) - 5 mm
    Mosquito net height = lowest measured height (B1) - 5 mm

It is important to consider that the fittings will take up additional space on the frame, and their dimensions are not taken into account when making the mosquito net. That is, if for some reason there is not enough space on the frame for installation, then the dimensions of the product need to be reduced. For example, when mounting on a Z-shaped fastener, there must be free space on the frame: 52 mm at the top and 41 mm at the bottom.

Installation

Installation using wings

  1. To install the lamb, you need at least 9mm of free space on the window frame
  2. The wings are screwed with self-tapping screws (2 on top, 2 on bottom) in the “open” position
  3. When installing the frame mesh, the wings rotate to the “closed” position

Installation on metal hooks

  1. The frame mesh is installed with outside windows and hooks onto the sealing rubber.
  2. Secure the top hooks.
  3. Lower the frame down and secure the bottom hooks

Z-mount installation

  1. Frame mosquito net is installed on the outside of the window
  2. Insert the frame into the upper Z-mounts
  3. Lower the frame down, inserting it into the lower Z-mounts

Installation on plunger

  1. The frame mosquito net is installed in the opening.
  2. Use plungers to mark the locations for drilling holes.
  3. Drill holes with a diameter of 5.5 mm
  4. Install the mosquito net in the opening by directing the plunger into the holes in the window profile.

Self-measurement of pleated mesh (expand)

How to correctly measure a pleated mosquito net

1. If the mesh is installed in a prepared opening (the angle between the plane of the window or door and the slopes must be straight, the slope itself must be smooth, the presence of skirting boards and thresholds is not allowed, the floor must be level, to prevent it from falling into the closing plane of the mesh door handles, lock heads, latches, etc.), then the measurement is made at three points between the slopes (extensions), at two or three between the slope (extensions) and the floor (threshold). It is recommended to order the product according to the minimum dimensions received. The design of the system allows for accurate installation and error correction with an accuracy of ±5mm.

2. If the mesh is installed in a frame and the frame is attached to a door or window frame or facade as an overlay, then the measurement is made according to the width and height of the light opening. Next, 50 mm is added to the resulting horizontal dimensions on each side, 50 mm is added to the vertical dimensions on the top part, and 35 mm on the bottom part of the system. For production, it is enough to provide the overall dimensions. The frame has a rigid structure and the dimensions cannot be changed. For example: the resulting light opening width is 750mm and height is 2050mm. The overall dimensions of the framed product will be: 750mm+50mm+50mm=850mm in width, and 2050mm+50mm+35mm=2135mm in height. At the discretion of the measurer, the dimensions can be reduced if there are restrictions in the plane of contact, or increased, for example, vertically, so that the threshold is at floor level.

For example: there is a limitation on the width on one side in the form of a slope. Light opening 865mm. The distance from the edge of the light opening to the slope is 22 mm on one side, and 33 mm on the other. In this case, you need to understand that the structure will not completely disappear behind the edge of the light opening, but installation is possible. In this case, to the size of the light opening it is necessary to add 22-1mm on one side, and from 25 to 33-1 on the other side, that is, 865+21+32=918mm. The result is the overall size of the product in the frame along the width. The height dimension is calculated similarly.

What is the frame for?

The frame is used in cases where one of the conditions described in paragraph 1 above is not met. The frame is attached to the overlay and is a rectangular frame made of profile square section 25x25 mm in size, on which the product is assembled. It is intended for leveling existing unevenness and defects or for installation on a facade, door or window frame, gazebo roof support, terrace - for all cases in which installation in an opening is not possible. The use of a frame allows you to minimize installation time - the product is delivered completely ready for installation. All that remains is to drill Ø 8mm holes in the outer wall of the frame, fasten the product using self-tapping screws and insert plugs into the holes.

Self-measuring and installing a Hunter Douglas mosquito net on a door (expand)

Self-measurement and installation of Hunter Douglas door mosquito net

Measuring and assembling a door mosquito net can be carried out without the help of specialists. This is a fairly simple operation that even a person without specialized education and training can handle. In addition, the work will not take much time: for example, to assemble a mesh measuring 2100x800 it will take about 20 minutes. There is also no need for special tools or difficult-to-use equipment.

To install the mesh you will need:

  • roller (can be purchased together with accessories);
  • a screwdriver (required if a door closer is installed on the door);
  • stationery knife/scissors.

Methods for installing a mosquito net

The mosquito net can be mounted in two ways:

  • into the opening;
  • into the overlay.

The mesh can also be single-leaf or double-leaf. In the second case, you will need to install a T-shaped profile on one of the sashes. When measuring double doors, you need to provide space for installing a T-shaped profile. To do this, it is necessary to place a gap of 10 mm between the sashes.

The minimum dimensions of the canvas for installation are 150x150 mm, the maximum are 2400x1800 mm

How to measure and calculate the finished product

The size of the canvas will depend on the method of installing the mosquito net on the door. When installing an overlay, the following formula is suitable for calculating parameters:

  • width = opening width (W) + 20 mm;
  • height = opening height (B) +20 mm.

What to pay attention to when measuring:

  • the presence of interference for installing the mesh overlay (it is necessary to look from the side where the canvas will be located), handles, various protrusions, etc. can become interference;
  • the surface that will ensure the adhesion of the mesh must be flat, otherwise the product will not be firmly fixed;
  • provide space for mounting hinges (20 mm required) and magnets (13 mm);

To calculate the required amount of mesh when installing in an opening, you will need the following formula:

  • width = opening width (W) - 10 mm;
  • height = opening height (H) - 10 mm.

A “brush” is glued along the perimeter of the finished product

What to pay attention to when taking measurements:

  • measurements are taken along the height and width of the opening at three points (along both edges and in the middle);
  • provide space for mounting hinges (5 mm);
  • provide space for installing hinges at the bottom and top (at least 215 mm will be required).

Installation and assembly

How to assemble a mosquito net for a door:

cut the profile at an angle of 45 degrees;
connect profiles with corners;
check the corners - they should have an angle of 90 degrees;
cut the cross member
connect the middle cross member to the frame. Usually it is mounted at a height of 90 cm from the bottom edge of the door;
connect the lower cross member to the bottom of the frame;
secure the crossbar using special holders;
cut the mesh and place it on the rolling frame;
roll up the mesh with a cord;
Leave 10 mm of cord for the crossbar;
place one end of the cord under the crossbar holder
roll over the cord with a roller;
cut the canvas around the perimeter of the opening;
check the dimensions of the finished mosquito net.

How to install a mosquito net:

drill a hole in the upper part of the frame for the counter hinge;
drill a hole in the bottom of the frame for a counter hinge;
install counter hinges to the frame;
when installing a mosquito net in an opening, use hinges in the opening;
install the hinge in the opening at the bottom;
install the hinge in the opening at the top;
connect the loops together;
secure the hinges with a door pin;
when installing a mosquito net on the overlay, use the hinges on the overlay;
connect the upper and lower hinges using a door pin;
screw the finished product;
If there is a closer on the door, you first need to connect the hinges with the main part of the closer;
Then the closer is secured with a cap;
A) cock the closer; B) change the voltage of the closer using a screwdriver.

After installation, the mosquito net is completely ready for use and will reliably protect the room from insects.

Self-measurement and installation of the door mosquito system "Kontur+" (expand)

Self-measurement and installation of the door mosquito system "Kontur+"

You can install a mosquito net on the door yourself. To carry out the task, you will need knowledge of the rules for measuring, assembling and installing the finished structure.

How to take measurements

First you need to determine the dimensions of the door:

  • the width of the light opening is measured;
  • distance from the border of the light opening to the slope (measurements are taken on both sides of the border of the light opening);
  • according to the height of the light opening;
  • distance from the border of the light opening to the slope (measurements are taken from below and above the border of the light opening).

How to calculate the dimensions of the finished product

To identify width The formula will do:

the width of the opening obtained from measurements + distances to the left and right slopes – 21 mm (gap for attaching curtains) – 12 mm (gap for attaching a magnetic latch).

To identify heights The formula will do:

the height of the opening obtained from measurements + the distance to the upper and lower slopes.

Important: if the distance to the slopes (left and right in total) exceeds 90 mm, then the value of 90 mm is taken for calculations.

For the system to function and protect against insects, it is enough to block the doorway with a structure whose size is 10 mm larger than the area of the light opening.

width - minimum – 400 mm, maximum – 2000 mm;
height – minimum 1000 mm, maximum 3000 mm.

How to assemble a mosquito repellent system

The door mosquito net is assembled as follows:

a handle is attached to the door (optimally at a distance of 1200 mm from the base), two self-tapping screws are used for installation;
hinges are attached to the door, at a distance of 100 mm from the upper and lower bases, using self-tapping screws;
the door is attached to the frame using 3 self-tapping screws, a magnetic latch is mounted on the opposite side of the door;

the spring of the self-tightening mechanism is tensioned.

How to tension a spring:

  • press the SPM, remove the lock from the clutch;
  • tighten the SPM spring by rotating the lock in the direction of closing the door (use a screwdriver);
  • lift the mechanism up until the hexagon is fixed in the curtain.

Self-measurement and installation of rolled mosquito nets Hunter Douglas (expand)

Self-measurement and installation of rolled mosquito nets Hunter Douglas

Rolled mosquito nets can be installed independently. To do this you will need a set of tools, the mesh itself and components.

Measurement and calculation of the finished product

How to measure a window:

  • installation in the opening will require the smallest indicators;
  • for installation in an overlay - the largest.

When installing in an opening, it is necessary to take into account all the data obtained during measurement.

Designations:

  • A – location of the mosquito net (vertical folding);
  • B – location of the mosquito net (horizontal folding);
  • W – width when measured;
  • B – height during measurements.

Product size calculations

Must be observed minimum dimensions overlap to avoid assembly errors. If desired by the customer, other floor sizes can be used.

To calculate the canvas when installing it in an opening, the dimensions of the opening obtained from measurements are used.

To calculate the fullness when installing an overlay, the following formula is suitable:

  • smallest window width + left overlap + right overlap.

The minimum size of the left and right overlap is 14 mm. Optimal size– 34 mm.

Formula for measuring the height of a mosquito net:

  • the smallest window height + upper overlap + lower overlap.

The optimal size of the upper ceiling is 49.6 mm

The optimal size of the bottom overlap is 18 mm.

Assembly

First you need to trim required amount in accordance with the dimensions, then clean and clean.

Build process:

1. The bushing and spring are inserted into the pipe;
2. the upper edge of the mesh is glued to the pipe (the pipe must be positioned on the canvas so that the spring is on the left side);
3. Attached to the bottom edge of the mesh adhesive tape;
4. the brush is inserted into the handle;
* The two bottom and top buttons should be installed at a distance of ~ 57 and 227 mm from the bottom edge of the canvas, and 445 mm from top edge. The remaining buttons are distributed evenly between them at a distance of 300 mm.
5. buttons are installed;
6. The adhesive tape is folded at the bottom of the mesh;
7. the folded edge is inserted into the handle (you need to make sure that the edge of the mesh fits into the slot);
* It is forbidden to move the mesh in the handle, as this may damage the canvas.
8. insert the handle fasteners, screw them in with screws;
9. insert the brush into the cassette;
10. insert the pipe with the mesh into the cassette;
11. insert the right bearing (you need to check that the mesh fits into the slot);
12. insert the bearing into the cassette, secure with screws;
13. insert the left bearing into the spring crosspiece, secure with screws;
*Make sure the shutter is aligned with the cutting angle.
14. Turn the spring, make sure that the shutter and the cutting angle meet;
15. make holes in the guides;
16. install the locking mechanism in both guides;
17. secure the locking mechanism with screws;
18. Install the guide cover in both guides.

Installation and dismantling

Installation of guides is carried out in the following ways:

  • overlay, screwing (A);
  • overlay with clip (B);
  • into the opening, screwing (C);
  • with clip (D).

The bracket can be installed:

  • inside (A);
  • ceiling way(IN);
  • externally (C);
  • in frame (D).

How to install:

1. the corresponding plugs are attached to the bracket (if necessary, the plugs can be mounted before screwing);
2. unfold the bracket, pull the handle around the first protrusion (A); as a result, the pin and the hinge point should take a horizontal position;
3. gently press the cassette against the brackets (press until it clicks, press the handle all the way to the wall so that the cassette is fixed);
4. Insert one of the guides into the logs of the handle, then lift it all the way up until the guide comes into contact with the cassette (the handle should rest against the wall);
* The angle between the side guides and the cassette must be 90 degrees.
5. the guides are positioned so that the distances at the top and bottom are the same;
6. strengthen the guide;
7. Open and close the mesh a couple of times.
*If everything is installed correctly, the handle will not get stuck; the edge on both ends of the handle will be the same length.
  • moving from the edges to the center, insert the guide plugs;
  • adjust the locking mechanism.
* To increase the pressure, you need to turn it clockwise, to loosen it, you need to turn it counterclockwise. Final adjustment can be made using a locking mechanism:
  • unscrew the screw;
  • move the shutter;
  • screw the screw;
  • do the same for the second mechanism. It is necessary to make sure that the mechanisms are moved the same distance, and also check that the handle can be pulled out without significant effort.
8. To close the holes on the brackets, you can use the protective cover (insert and press until it clicks);
9. install plugs on the brackets.

How to dismantle:

  • close the grid;
  • remove protective covers and strips;
  • Unscrew the side guides and remove them;
  • pull the handles of the brackets towards you;
  • remove the cassette;
  • Unscrew and remove the brackets.

Safety

Before installing the mesh you must:

  • read the installation manual;
  • prepare appropriate clothing and protective equipment necessary for working with tools;
  • Read the instructions for working with the tools that will be used for installation.

Measurement and installation of the roller shutter mosquito system "Kontur+" (expand)

Self-measurement and installation of the roller shutter mosquito system "Kontur+"

You can install a roller shutter mosquito net yourself. This will require knowledge of the rules for measuring, assembling and installing the finished structure.

How to calculate the overall dimensions of a roller shutter mosquito system

To calculate width of the finished product, necessary:

  • measure the width of the light opening (B);
  • add 76 mm to the resulting value (38 on each side).

If dimension A or C (from the border of the light area to the slope) is less than 38 mm, then the actual distance to the slope must be added to the width (B) (the value should not be less than 10 mm).

Ready calculation formula system width:

B+76 mm or B+A+C.

To calculate finished product height, necessary:

  • measure the height of the light opening (E);
  • add 63 mm to the resulting figure (43 mm above, 20 mm below).

If the distance from the border of the light opening to the upper slope (D) is less than 43 mm, then the actual value can be substituted into the formula.

Ready calculation formula system height:

E+D (or 43 mm) +20 mm.

Important: if the width of the product exceeds 1200 mm, it is recommended to attach the center of the fixing strip to the window opening using a self-tapping screw and a gasket. This will help avoid bending of the fixing bar.

How to assemble and install the system

For installation you will need:

  • disassembled mosquito control system;
  • installation kit (4 screws, 4 rivets, 4 plugs);
  • cordless screwdriver or drill;
  • screwdriver;
  • drills (combined or two drills with a diameter of 8.7 and 4 mm);
  • riveter, suitable for working with rivets.

To assemble the product you need:

remove the fixing bar from the guides along with the bristles, which must be inserted into the groove of the bar; insert the arrester into the guide;

unpack the kit (remove the film, remove fasteners and components);
Attention: the arrester must be positioned correctly;
insert the guide into the leg of the box lid (pay attention to the position of the hole in the guide);
at a distance of 8 mm from the top edge of the guide, use a drill to make a hole measuring 3-4 mm;
use a pull rivet to fix the guide (do the same with the second guide);
insert the fixing bar into the guide (pay attention to the holes in them);
use traction rivets to secure the guide and fixing strip;
make 2 holes in each guide (the diameter of the holes on the outer part is 8.7 mm, on the inner part - mm);
*3 holes if the length of the guide exceeds 1500 mm;
use self-tapping screws to fix the product on the window frame;
Using plugs, close the external holes.

What malfunctions can occur and how to fix them

If the mesh does not completely wind up into the box, you must:

  • check whether the arresters are installed correctly;
  • check the location of the guides (they must be parallel to each other);
  • check the tension of the return mechanism spring; if it is loose, pull it (remove the plug along right side box, tighten it counterclockwise with a flat screwdriver);
    * one revolution of the shaft – 22 revolutions of the screwdriver.

If the mesh does not lock in the open position, you need to check the condition of the latching handles (move them to the extreme position, release them). The handles should return to their original position. If this does not happen, you must:

  • remove the lock;
  • remove handles and spring;
  • install the handle in the window trim;
  • install the spring (until it clicks);
  • install the arrester;
  • check if the handle works.

Another reason for the lack of fixation of the mesh is incorrect installation of the fixing strip. It is necessary to check how it is installed (correct position - with the pile facing the window), and also whether there is a bend. If the product is bent, it must be returned to its straight position.

Measuring and installation of internal mosquito net (expand)

Self-measurement and installation of internal mosquito net

The light opening must be measured in two planes - width and height. Each plane is measured in two places (the middle and one of the edges). Smallest size in the plane and will be considered the desired one.

Attention: It is important to take accurate measurements of height and width in mm. If the dimensions of the mosquito net are 2-3 mm larger, it will be difficult to install in the opening. If the dimensions of the mosquito net are 2-3 mm smaller, it will fly out of the opening.

Installing a metal mount

With mesh width less than 500mm one fastening is installed in the center of the lower and upper profile of the mesh frame. (Horizontally)

With mesh width more than 500mm two fastenings are installed from the edges on the upper profile of the frame and one fastening in the center of the lower profile of the mesh.

Many people, when installing plastic windows, try to save money on mosquito nets, especially if the installation is carried out in the fall. Breakages of the frame of the existing product also occur. In any case, when the period of insect activity begins, the need arises to purchase a life-saving barrier.

Mosquitoes are rarely standardized in size, since the sizes of installed plastic windows are individual. For this reason, the following solutions to the problem are possible:

  1. Order a mosquito net from the company where the windows were ordered.
  2. Call an engineer to take measurements, which will take some time and require additional costs.
  3. Measure the mosquito net to plastic window on one's own.

Most convenient option is an independent measurement.

Types of mosquito net fastenings

Structurally, mosquito nets have a simple structure: a fiberglass net with a 1 mm mesh, fixed on an aluminum frame. But these products differ in the installation method.

The mesh attachment may vary depending on the manufacturer and is of the following types:

  • Plunger. The most popular type of fastening, which is considered the most durable and effective. The frame of the mosquito net is fixed using spring-loaded pins, which ensure reliable and tight fixation of the mosquito.
  • Z-shaped. This type is considered the second most popular. In this case, the mosquito is attached to the window frame using special metal brackets that ensure a tight fit. The fastenings are quite secure, but over time they can become loose, which will lead to the appearance of cracks.
  • "Pockets" Such fasteners are used quite rarely, since they do not ensure a tight fit of the mesh to the window frame. In this case, measurements are performed with a reserve.

Measurements for grids with plunger fastening

Installation of such a mesh is possible if the outer bevel of the window frame is not rounded or has too large an angle of inclination, otherwise the groove for the pin will not provide reliable fixation products.

To measure the window you will need a tape measure. It is necessary to open the window sash and measure the light opening. The measurement is taken along the edge of the seal, which is installed on all plastic windows. Results must be recorded to the nearest millimeter. It is necessary to subtract 6 mm from the resulting width and height to provide enough space for installing the mosquito frame.

Measurements for z-mount meshes

Calculation of dimensions for this type of mesh is carried out similarly to the previous one, but 20 millimeters must be added to the obtained measurement results.

When using such nets, you need to take into account that it is mounted outside the window, therefore, there must be enough space for installation. Difficulties during installation can be caused by nearby slopes or window grilles mounted near the window. In such cases, it is recommended to use a mesh with a plunger attachment.

Measurements for nets with fastening in “pockets”

Previously, this type of fastening was the most common, however, it was replaced by more effective methods fasteners Plastic “pockets” are mounted on the outside of the window at the corners of the light opening. Such fasteners are not capable of ensuring a tight fit of the mesh to the window frame, and therefore are not recommended for use.

If there is still a need to use this particular fastener, then the opening is measured in the same way as in the case of a z-fastener.

"Providal" systems

Firstly this will allow you to save money to pay for the measurer (even if other companies say that it is free, but nothing is free and it is clear that the measurer’s work must be paid for and paid for with your money, which is included in the price of the product)

Secondly

Your independent measurement will free our craftsmen from wasting time on the road (since the measurement itself takes 10 minutes at most), but the road to you and back can take 2 or more hours. During this time, the master will be able to install the grids we have already manufactured.

Therefore we welcome independent conduct measurements, and in order for you to measure correctly, we wrotethis page is for you.

To begin with, let us remind you that the sliding mosquito nets of the "Providal" system are installed on special guide rails attached to the glazing frame ( With internal) apartment side. Depending on their length, these runners allow the mosquito net to move along the length of your balcony.

Even if this is not what you need, then in this case the guides must be 2 times larger than the width of the mesh, because the mesh must move so as not to completely block access to the locking mechanism of the window sash. Otherwise, when you close the window, the latch will be behind the mosquito net.

So, if your balcony ceiling is not covered with siding, clapboard or similar materials, measuring the mosquito net will come down to 2 operations.

1. Measurement of the light opening vertically.

This is the distance from the bottom to the top rail of the frame glazing. Since the frame has several runners, so that you do not get confused about which one you need to choose when taking measurements, close all the doors. Now measure the distance between the visible parts of the rails, as shown in the figure.

If the ceiling of your balcony is sheathed and the top rail is not completely visible, measure the distance from the bottom rail to the ceiling. When you inform us of the measurement results (if you decide that our specialists will carry out the installation), be sure to

Please indicate what measurements were taken.

2. Measurement overall size mesh width.

To do this, move the sash all the way and measure the width of the resulting opening along with the vertical parts of the sash adjacent to the opening, as shown in the figure.

Now you can place an order for the production of mosquito nets. If you want to install the net yourself, then read the rules on how to install sliding mosquito nets.

But, if you find all this tedious, call us and we will measure your windows.
