Where is the best place to put a gazebo? Beautiful gazebos for a summer residence: manufacturing options, photos of finished structures

How and where to build a gazebo with your own hands

The gazebo is one of the main recreation areas in the garden. You can receive guests, cook, or just relax while watching the landscape. Gazebos are constructed from wood and forged metal, from metal pipes and bricks, from natural stone.

They are different shapes- round and square, rectangular, 6- and 8-sided. Some gazebos have a space fenced off with blank walls from prying eyes, others have window openings. You can make a gazebo without walls; you can replace them with openwork grilles.

Check out the possibilities of the gazebo. In the gazebo you can relax from the midday heat, hide from the rain, invite friends for tea, retire from prying eyes, admire your garden or pond in complete privacy. Try to place the gazebo in the part of the garden that offers the most beautiful view, just don’t put a gazebo in the middle of a plot in the sun. If you are going to arrange receptions or tea parties in this gazebo, then it should be close to the entrance to your house.

A classic do-it-yourself gazebo is a simple wooden structure. It can have any shape and size - for example, with a support and mutually intersecting boards. Simple summerhouses are quite easy to make, especially if you purchase ready-made parts that are installed on site.

Marking the area for the gazebo

Let's start marking the site: the position of the building is indicated using a cord, placing marks in the places where each support will be. After final inspection, construction begins. Vertical posts should have a size of 70 by 7 mm and 3 meters in height.

Installation of supports

To securely fix the supports in the ground, install side supports in concrete or use metal steps made of profile steel. For the purpose of precise vertical installation of supports, a level or plumb line is used. The supports facing each other are connected to each other by boards. Such boards form the ceiling of a garden gazebo. In order to fix these boards, it is necessary to make cuts on the racks.

After this, rafter legs are installed from timber measuring 50 by 70 mm. Rafter legs They are needed in the same size; they are marked and assembled on the ground. After the roof outline is ready, you need to start installing the roof. Boards are placed on the trails, tightly fitted to one another. The roof can be made from OSB sheets, then everything is covered with a soft roof.

In order to install the supports of the gazebo, you need to dig a hole 50-70 cm deep and install a pole in it. The lower part of the support should be treated with an antiseptic or bitumen to protect the wooden stand from moisture. At the bottom of the pit, the soil is compacted with a tamper, a large stone is placed on it, or the bottom is filled with concrete so that the stand does not fall into the soil during operation. The space between the stand and the ground is filled with concrete with layer-by-layer compaction every 15-20 cm. The vertical installation of the stand is checked periodically using a plumb line. The concrete surface must have a slope from the support to allow rainwater to drain.

When installing supports on an existing hard surface, metal shoes are used that are attached to the base of the posts. On a concrete base, a shoe of 100 by 100 mm will be sufficient; on an asphalt surface, the shoe should have a size of 150 by 150 mm.

Fixing the supports

To secure the support from horizontal movement, the shoe is attached to the base with crutches or anchor bolts.

The simplest, but less reliable way— install supports on metal stepsons. A stepchild is any rolled metal (I-beam, angle, channel). Mark the location of the supports and drive the stepson into the ground to a depth of 50 to 70 cm.

There should be 20-30 cm of stepson above the ground. The support, which is in a vertical position, is attached to the stepson with metal clamps or coupling bolts that pass through the stepson and the support.

If you want to save space in the garden, you can place a gazebo for your dacha close to the fence. In this case, you only need 2 supports, and fence posts will serve as the other 2 supports.

Since the fence posts usually have a small height (maximum 2 m), they are used as stepchildren and are attached to them with clamps or bolts of the gazebo post, while the opposite posts are installed by any other method.

DIY wooden gazebo

Let us also note the fact that a do-it-yourself wooden gazebo is as convenient as possible in that it can be of two types - capital and lightweight, collapsible. The second option can move freely around the territory of the dacha and change location every season. Also, a collapsible wooden gazebo does not necessarily have to spend the winter in the open air and lose the properties of the material. It may well be located in a barn, veranda country house and so on.

Do not forget that this type can also include arbors made of timber and arbors made of logs. Building them with your own hands is much more interesting than ordering them from craftsmen.

DIY brick gazebo

The next option is more durable and can rightfully be considered capital. Brick gazebos take longer to build than wooden gazebos, but they are also more reliable. These are really strong buildings that are located on a monolithic or strip foundation, and can be used not only as a place for morning tea and evening dinner, but even as a summer kitchen, temporary shelter, and so on. Here everything directly depends on internal filling designs.

It can be a gazebo with a barbecue, a gazebo with a barbecue, or just a gazebo with several benches and a large table. It is quite possible to install a sun lounger, armchairs, or sofa in such a gazebo, and this is very convenient, because by glazing the gazebo with double-glazed windows or even placing it in the openings wooden windows, you can instantly convert a brick gazebo into a place to stay for the night. This is very convenient if a large company has gathered at the dacha and needs to be accommodated for the night. As you can see, functionality increases with the strength of the material.

DIY gazebos made of polycarbonate

We also discussed this option in detail in one of our previous publications, and it is there that you can read about the advantages and methods of constructing such structures. Now, we just want to remind you that polycarbonate itself is truly a revolutionary material with which you can make a lot of things. AND, the best option, which we found is, of course, a cozy, bright, comfortable and modern gazebo made of polycarbonate.

This is a fairly lightweight structure that can include almost any type of foundation and type of frame. This is precisely the main advantage of polycarbonate gazebos - they can be built even from improvised means, without investing fabulous money in amenities. Therefore, think carefully before building a gazebo at your dacha with your own hands, perhaps this option most suitable.

DIY gazebo made of metal

An excellent option for the summer resident who has heavy tools at hand - an angle grinder, a hammer drill, welding machine. In this case, the construction of the gazebo will go quite quickly, if, of course, you purchase the necessary material on time.

A metal gazebo can be installed on several types of foundation, which is very convenient. This is a stone, a brick, strip foundation, monolithic casting, as well as piles and pipes. But this is not even the most important thing, but the speed of assembly of the structure. If the do-it-yourself gazebo project is drawn up correctly, then assembling it will not be difficult. All parts can be installed on the foundation sequentially, or with a single frame. Use for assembly metal gazebo You can use bolts and other fasteners with your own hands, or you can use a welding machine, which gives you the opportunity to choose a more convenient option.

A metal gazebo can be summer, or maybe all-season, if it is properly equipped: sheathed, insulated, installed double-glazed windows and doors. In short, a pretty good solution for any summer cottage.

Wrought iron gazebos for summer cottages

This type is not much different from metal gazebos, meaning installation, its speed and complexity. But wrought-iron gazebos are not lacking in decorativeness. The price also corresponds, which not everyone can afford.

But there is also a small drawback, because a forged gazebo is exactly summer building, where it is quiet and calm, cool and fun in the company of friends, but to convert it into an autumn room, you will need an absolute restructuring and addition of materials described a little above - wood, metal, brick and so on.

But there is also an “iron” advantage, which is very difficult to argue with - a forged gazebo is a unique symbol of certain styles of landscape design, and uniquely fits into any, even ready-made, design of the territory. Therefore, if decorativeness is a priority rather than practicality, then a forged gazebo is the best option.

As for building a forged gazebo with your own hands, it’s a little more complicated, since we would advise you to delegate the work with expensive elements to qualified craftsmen. But, if you are completely confident in your own abilities, you have one or two assistants, good tool and the desire to work, then you can safely begin.

DIY hexagonal gazebo

The drawings that you previously drew up for gazebos are not very suitable here, since you will have to create completely new markings and carry out other calculations. It's all about geometry, and if you get along with it, the result will be magnificent.

You can completely omit the issue of foundation, since a hexagonal gazebo is a wooden gazebo, which means that you should use the appropriate foundation, which we have already considered. Next, install the frame, preferably sequentially, and build the roof. This is where the most complex process begins, which will require a special scheme.

If you can build it yourself, you will save a significant amount of money, and in the near future you will understand how interesting and exciting building a gazebo with your own hands can be. The reason for this is the very shape and decorativeness of the hexagonal gazebo, which carries beauty, mood, and a sense of celebration.

DIY rectangular gazebo

It is difficult to call a rectangular gazebo an independent type, since almost any other type of gazebo can be of this shape. I would just like to note that this is the simplest version of a gazebo, summer or winter, large or small and cozy, and the reason for this is the correct shape, which is always easy to work with.

The algorithm of work is still the same - foundation, frame, roof. But whether to make a gazebo summer or all-season is a question for you personally.

A simple gazebo with your own hands can be built from a material convenient for you - brick, stone, wood, metal, polycarbonate, a combination of these materials.

DIY gazebo canopy

The simplest, most inexpensive, light in weight and practical for small country dachas gazebo option. A gazebo-canopy resembles a beach umbrella or a standard tent - it can be assembled and disassembled, transported and reinstalled anywhere. Therefore, a country gazebo very easily turns into a portable one, with which you can relax in nature.

The structure of the gazebo-canopy is created from pipes with special connections - this is both the frame and the base. There is no need for a foundation for such a gazebo, so that’s one problem. As a roof, any tension awning, special film, tarpaulin, fabric can be used. If you want this type summer gazebo It really worked out with your own hands, start with drawing up a drawing and exact dimensions.

Building a gazebo with your own hands: the correct algorithm

How to make a gazebo with your own hands? This question interests many, and we hope that we will help each person in some way. So, in this section we will very briefly look at the basic sequence, following which you can build a reliable and beautiful gazebo with your own hands, decorate it and provide everything you need:

  • Gazebo layout. Making gazebos with your own hands always begins with choosing the material, size, shape of the gazebo and creating a drawing according to which it will be built. We should not forget about the estimate for materials and consumables, as well as tools for making a gazebo. Budget in advance for decor and ensuring comfort and coziness in the gazebo, determine seasonality, calculate furniture and accessories, etc.;
  • Choosing a location. Before building a gazebo, you definitely need to choose a location. The first is the requirements of the structure itself: soil, uniformity and size of the site, plantings, communications, and so on. The second is your personal requirements: a gazebo in the shade or in the sun, in a garden or in a clearing, in a quiet or more ventilated place;
  • Foundation. Depending on the type of gazebo you want to install or build on your site, you will need to determine the type of foundation. The main criterion for choosing a foundation will be the size of the gazebo, the total weight of the structure, its shape, materials of manufacture, as well as the requirement for the floor of the gazebo;
  • Base and frame. If the material is determined in advance, you will not encounter any problems at this stage. Following the design, simply install the base and overall frame on the foundation, secure it well, carry out a preliminary inspection before installing the roof;
  • The frame for the roof and the roof itself. Depending on the type of gazebo, select and roofing material, from it - the complexity and strength of the frame under the roof. The frame is metal or wood, the roofing material is slate, corrugated sheeting, polycarbonate, tarpaulin, ondulin, metal tiles and so on. Remember, roofing a gazebo with your own hands is not the easiest process, especially if you choose a hexagonal gazebo.

Having finished with the main building, it needs to be put in order, since garden gazebos with your own hands are not only a foundation, frame and roof, but also arrangement of both the internal and external parts.

Ensuring the comfort of the gazebo

Certain household items will help make your gazebo truly multifunctional, cozy and comfortable for relaxation. This is a good one wooden table with your own hands, chairs and benches, perhaps even cabinets and shelves, if the gazebo is designed as a summer kitchen and a place for gathering large companies. It is also very convenient if the gazebo has a stove, grill, or barbecue. With their presence, you can have a picnic even in not the best weather.

Decorating the gazebo

After building the gazebo and providing it with everything necessary from the inside, the last question arises: how to decorate the gazebo with your own hands? The answer is very simple - try to make it the most comfortable and attractive for yourself. To do this, you can use absolutely different options - painting or varnishing, decorating with inlays, decorating the inside with tablecloths and napkins, and beautiful plants outside.

Now that you know exactly how to build a gazebo with your own hands and make it practically a living space, you can get to work. And we can only wish you success and good results!

What types of gazebos are there?

Why do so many people dream about own home? This option has many advantages: silence, safety, and freedom in choosing the size and layout of the house. What attracts many people most of all in this option is the presence cozy courtyard, and even better - blooming garden. The opportunity to spend a lot of time in the fresh air, have breakfast or dinner in the shade of trees and organize noisy holidays in the open air is worth a lot.

If one of the reasons for purchasing or building own home If you want to spend a lot of time outdoors, you should definitely think about building a gazebo. A gazebo will give your garden or patio a complete look and give you the opportunity to enjoy relaxing in the fresh air with pleasant comfort.

Perfectly protecting from the scorching sun or bad weather, the gazebo is an ideal place for both solitary relaxation and family feasts and receiving guests. In addition, a garden gazebo is an extremely expressive design element. This light structure was simply created to decorate the area. If you choose the right gazebo, it will bring you many pleasant moments.

Let's talk about which gazebo to choose for your home and where to put it.

Place for a gazebo

Where to place the gazebo? Typically, gazebos are placed either directly near the house or in the depths of the garden. In the first case, as a rule, they spend a lot of time in the gazebo, arranging family dinners there and receiving guests in warm weather. Also, a house gazebo can serve as a playhouse for children.

A garden gazebo is a more romantic, secluded place. There are trees, bushes, flowers around. The rustle of leaves, birdsong and the scent of flowers create a special atmosphere. In such a gazebo you can receive guests on warm days, have dates or be alone with yourself.

If the garden is classic, of regular shape, the gazebo is installed in the center. One or more equally spaced paths lead to it. The gazebo becomes the focal point from which you can admire the entire garden. This location option is especially successful if the garden is the pride of the owners. Guests invited to the gazebo for tea will be able to fully appreciate its beauty.

If the garden is made in a different style, the gazebo can be placed anywhere. Decide for yourself which option suits you best:

  • in the center to admire the garden;
  • in the most secluded place so that the gazebo remains hidden from prying eyes;
  • closer to home.

If your choice is a gazebo in oriental style(pagoda), then it is better to place it either near a reservoir, if there is one on the site, or on a hill. Next to the pagoda gazebo, you can organize a very small, purely symbolic artificial pond.

Very popular now barbecue gazebos and barbecue gazebos. If you want such a gazebo with a barbecue, you need to choose a place for it more carefully. Firstly, it is very desirable to supply water to the gazebo, which means you need to position the structure so that this is convenient. Secondly, such a gazebo is not placed too close to the house because of smoke and odors. Thirdly, the gazebo with barbecue must be located at a distance of 5 meters from any buildings and trees.

Which gazebo to choose: styles and models of gazebos

Main types of gazebos - a pavilion and a pergola. Pavilions called closed or semi-closed gazebos with reliable roof. They are able to protect not only from the scorching sun and rain, but also from the wind. The pavilions have several walls and an opening for passage.

Pergola- This is an open gazebo, often in the shape of an arch. It can simply be a bench under a canopy (by the way, in Italian the word “pergola” means “canopy”). This could be a bench-swing, protected by a canopy, or a gazebo made of two or three trellis walls, densely overgrown climbing plants. The pergola roof can only partially protect from the sun and precipitation.

Which option should I choose?

Make a decision depending on why you need a gazebo. If you like to sit in the garden with a book or receive a couple of guests in the fresh air, then a spacious pergola will suffice. If you arrange walks in your garden both in autumn and winter, then it is better to build a more closed gazebo-pavilion.

Open or closed?

The pavilion gazebo can be completely closed - for example, built from wood up to the elbow, and above it - glazed. This is more likely not even a gazebo, but a cute summer house. You won’t freeze in such a gazebo, but in the summer you probably won’t want to spend much time in it: no fresh air, no smell of flowering plants.

But there is a compromise solution - removable panels, screens, etc. They closed it in the fall and removed it by summer.

Gaining popularity gazebos with hydromassage or regular large baths(mini-pools). Similar designs are also called.

Such a gazebo, of course, needs to be supplied with water and drainage. The gazebo itself can be made either open or closed. If the gazebo is open, the bathtub is built into a kind of structure and it is possible to completely close this structure (for example, with a kind of hatch, a tarpaulin) so that the font is not damaged during the cold season.

Let's list the requirements that apply to before its construction and see how to place a gazebo in the country.

Location of the gazebo in the country

The gazebo should have:

  • cozy and pleasant in any weather;
  • it could be used at any time of the year;
  • cool or at least not very hot in the summer heat;
  • dry and not cold in damp rainy weather;
  • multifunctionality - from dining area to a place of rest;
  • it could accommodate quite a lot of people (5-10 people), and it should be the most secluded place possible.

When listing the requirements for the object, nothing was said about its appearance and decorations, so this does not play an important role in its construction. Its main decoration is plants that wrap around the building well, making it beautiful and mysterious, delighting the people who relax in it.

How to properly place a gazebo

When choosing a location, you need to draw a site plan and determine on it where it is best to place the gazebo. The area we are currently considering has rectangular shape, on one side of the plot there is a street, and on three sides there are neighbors. Based on the last point of the requirements, they decided to place the gazebo in the center of the site, as a point that is as far as possible from the borders.

Location of the gazebo to the house

Pay special attention to the location of the building in space. As already mentioned, it will be located in the center of the site, and the entrance will be placed in the opposite direction from the house, 180 degrees and at right angles to the path. They decided to place the entrance on the western side, and why will be discussed later. It should be noted that nothing has yet been built on the site, but how the dacha construction projects will be located has already been noted on paper.

Gazebo design

With the exception of the roof, they decided to make the building out of wood. Pine timber, lining and floor lath were chosen as building materials. It was decided to install the wooden building on six concrete cubes, and large crushed stone was used as drainage under the floor.

In plan, the object has a regular hexagonal shape, the length of each side is 1.5 meters. The side walls are sheathed on both sides with clapboard and inclined at an angle of 80 degrees, and the height of the walls is about 1.5 meters.

Quite common gazebos with openwork lattice walls are inconvenient due to wind and drafts. And in buildings with solid walls it is much more comfortable.

Our building has five walls, and strong benches were placed along each one. There is quite a big one in the middle round table on a column (the table is designed for 10 beer mugs).

Like the walls, the roof has six angles and is similar to a hexagonal pyramid, and the ceiling is 3 meters high. Bouquets of aromatic herbs, birch brooms, etc. are hung under it. - everything that needs to be dried, but protected from scorching heat sun rays, finds shelter here.

Where to put a gazebo on the site

The entrance is from the west side, and in front of it there is a lawn, a little to the side of the barbecue. Behind the lawn there is a lawn and a flower garden and, being inside the building, you can enjoy this splendor.

To the north of the building, hops grew to a good height of three meters, and next to it grew kirkazon (Aristolochia), a climbing perennial.

On the eastern side, girlish grapes are planted, climbing along plastic mesh, and a pond with fish shines through the grape foliage. People are not visible behind the vine foliage and the fish swim without fear, but as soon as you approach the pond, they go deeper into the thickets.

WITH south side Climbing annuals were planted: morning glory and thunbergia. As you noticed, the building is covered on all sides by vegetation from prying eyes.

The entrance from the western side and the orientation in the opposite direction from the entrance to the site and the entrance to the house were not chosen by chance. So install the object was psychologically correct, it increases the feeling of isolation from the outside world.

In addition to the psychological side, when designing the facility, we also took into account practical aspects: when the sun is in the west, its rays better warm up the gazebo from the inside (especially in early spring), and when winter comes to an end, the west wind blows snow out of it, making it easier for the sun to do its job. Thanks to this, already in early spring it is dry and warm inside.

Gazebos are the best option for arranging a recreation area on your estate. These architectural objects can give the area a feeling of serenity and relaxation. Before you start arranging your site, explore design ideas and beautiful examples that will help make your dacha ideal.

What is it: features

A gazebo is a free-standing architectural unit in the courtyard of a private house or summer cottage. This garden design serves for relaxation and helps protect from rain. You can simply spend time with friends in it, have lunch, play Board games. Gazebos can be open, partially or completely closed. Many people build terraces next to such objects. There are no restrictions in the design of these structures, so you can equip a beach, barbecue, place to sleep and play on your territory.

Every person wants to have a corner on their property where they can hide from the scorching rays of the sun and cold winds.

The recreation area is often surrounded by green spaces and fragrant flowers to create an environment suitable for relaxation. When it comes to a small architectural object, most people mean the presence of gazebos on the site. Outdoor recreational structures have been considered an expressive component for several centuries garden design

and the most popular decoration, which occupies a leading position among small architectural objects. With the help of gazebos you can emphasize the direction of the interior of the site and significantly transform any part of the territory.

  • Before you begin arranging a recreation area, you should study the features of such structures.
  • with the help of an original approach and decor, you can make the gazebo the best place on your site where you can relax and chat with loved ones;
  • these architectural forms are multifunctional, since you can not only relax in them, but also use them as a dining area;
  • plan the size of the future building. Despite its external compactness, all household members should fit inside it;
  • In order for the gazebo to replicate the style of the house and summer cottage, you should take the issue of choosing a design seriously.

If we compare the construction of a gazebo with the construction country house, installation of such a small architectural form is accompanied by less money and effort. However, you will need to take everything into account small parts so that the object is of high quality and meets the stated expectations. Buy only proven ones Construction Materials to make the gazebo attractive and practical.

Kinds

Gazebos can be very different. The choice of the required type is based on the purpose of using the building.

  • Altanka looks beautiful and attractive on the site. It is a small architectural form made of wood. In it you can relax in hot weather and relax in the cool of the evening. Translated from Italian, gazebo means balcony or ledge. On this moment modern facilities have undergone modifications and are arbors that are located on special ledges. The foundation is a prerequisite for such structures.

  • Barrel gazebo counts budget option. It is created from a polycarbonate sheet that acts as a wall and roof. Such a structure reliably protects the backs of the people inside from rain and wind.

  • Most summer residents install small architectural forms on their site for a comfortable pastime. Every person knows that a dacha without barbecue is not a dacha. For this reason they are popular designs for barbecue. They can have any shape and be made of different materials. If you want your building to look original, choose wood products.

  • Collapsible structures are in demand, since the summer season is characterized by a short period of time. Not every summer resident comes to his plot in winter, so stationary gazebo will be idle. Bad weather conditions destroy the material; it is necessary to monitor the construction every year to extend its service life. And mobile structures are convenient because at the end of the summer season, all elements are put away in the shed and stored until next spring.

Sliding windows gazebos will appeal to people who want to extend their time enjoying nature in the fall. This type of glazing is gaining popularity because it is practical and compact. Such a system allows you to make maximum use of the gazebo area, since opening the doors does not require additional space. Convenience sliding system is justified by the fact that when strong wind the doors don't slam.

Manufacturing materials

Country gazebos are made from different materials. Depending on your plans, you can choose the option that suits you.

From boards

A wooden gazebo is the simplest and most convenient model. To install such an object, you do not need to build monolithic foundation, since it can be replaced with simple cinder blocks, concrete blocks, a wooden frame and old tires.

Wooden gazebos have numerous advantages:

  • environmental friendliness of the material;
  • ease of use: collapsible models can be transported;
  • multifunctionality;
  • the gazebo will fit into any interior;
  • long service life.

There are also disadvantages to such objects:

  • to prevent the material from deteriorating, it should be treated with special means;
  • wood is a fire hazardous raw material.

For work, you can use any material that is available. It is possible to make an object from oak, linden, pine. Many people choose gazebos from a blockhouse. Round timber is popular. Objects made from this material have different designs. Appearance depends on its size and type of wood.

Made of brick

This is a durable and reliable material for construction. With the help of these raw materials you can create a gazebo on long years. Such an object must be located on a strong foundation. There may be a strip or monolithic base. Most people use such gazebos as summer kitchen, places to relax with barbecue.

Stone

Stone gazebos are also popular. Limestone and other natural materials are suitable for work. Stone buildings are reliable and solid. However, experts do not recommend making small gazebos from stone, as you will lose the fundamental effect.

From foam blocks

To make a gazebo from foam blocks, you must follow several rules. It's connected with high level absorbency of blocks. To create a competent structure, you will need to install internal waterproofing. Foam blocks are considered the best option for the construction of a winter gazebo, since the material retains heat well.

Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate gazebos are light and unpretentious structures that can be built on any foundation and frame.

The object has the following advantages:

  • low cost;
  • mobility;
  • resistance to temperature changes;
  • bright and colorful appearance;
  • fire resistance;
  • resistance to mechanical stress;
  • flexibility and moisture resistance;
  • good sound insulation of the material and heat retention.

The disadvantages include the following:

  • low abrasive resistance;
  • susceptibility to UV rays.

Metal

Metal structures are the most durable gazebos. If you decide to create metal structure, rest assured that such a building will serve you for many years.

Metal gazebos are a manufacturing method for a person who has a welding machine, an electric grinder and a hammer drill on hand. Brick, monolithic pouring, pipes and stones can be used as a foundation. With a well-designed drawing, you can quickly assemble your structure. There are lightweight options for summer pastime. For winter events, the structure can be insulated.

Advantages of metal gazebos:

  • resistance to environmental influences;
  • simple installation;
  • fire safety of the material.

Negative qualities:

  • heating in the sun;
  • subject to corrosion;
  • V winter time the metal freezes very much.

From plastic pipes

Standard gazebos are of capital construction. However, in addition to the usual brick and wood, many people began to use PVC pipes.

The advantages of this material include the following qualities:

  • long period of use;
  • resistance to aggressive environmental influences;
  • easy installation;
  • the possibility of modifying the building;
  • mobility;
  • affordable price.

Parts and components

When designing a gazebo, all components of the future building should be taken into account. Think through every detail. If we talk about the components of the room, several features should be taken into account.

  • The floor must be stable and durable. This is due to issues of safety and comfort of guests. Gaps and holes in the base are not allowed. You can choose any raw material depending on the style of your design. The following raw materials can be used: wood, concrete, stone tiles and other common materials. In some cases, a gazebo is built right on the ground. However, you will not be able to walk barefoot in such a structure.

  • Windows play an important role. They are responsible for letting light into the room. Choose open options so you don't have to turn on the electricity during the day. For convenience, you can equip the windows with shutters.

  • A door is a component of any building, which should be taken care of. Depending on the type of gazebo you choose, you can install a door or exclude its use. They are not provided for open structures; in other situations, one should rely on the style of construction. In many cases for summer house A mosquito net will be useful.

  • Think over the fence for your object. It is not necessary to use a chain-link or a full-fledged fence as a fence. You can mark the area with a low fence, ground lanterns, and even a flowering garden.

  • Ceiling selected based on the style of the gazebo. In any case, regardless of the design, it must be of high quality and safe.

Design options

Before designing a new gazebo, you should decide on the shape of the structure, as well as the features of each type. There are several variations.

  • Hexagonal gazebos. These structures are made only from wood. First of all, you need to develop a diagram, the compilation of which requires knowledge of geometry. Initially, the frame is installed on the prepared foundation, after which the roof is installed. Hexagonal designs are difficult to create, but the end result is extremely attractive. Such buildings can decorate any area and bring landscape design a sense of high style and conviviality.

  • Rectangular design. This variation is considered universal. Architectural forms can be made from any material. Metal, stone and wood are actively used. You can operate such structures in winter and summer. The shape will appeal to the category of people who value comfort and practicality.
  • Square gazebo- the most common option, so ready-made designs are often found on sale.

  • Canopy. The simplest and cheapest type of structure. As a rule, it is chosen by owners of small plots, since such an object requires little space. The building is prefabricated and resembles a modular tent that can be transported. To create a canopy, you do not need to pour a foundation; the design itself is simple. To build it, you only need to correctly connect the pipes, which will act as a frame and base. Tarpaulin or special types of fabrics are used as a roof.

  • Round options are suitable for those who are conservatives and value an atmosphere of calm and comfort. In such a structure you can set up a round table where you can spend time with your loved ones. To complete the composition, you can install wooden benches around the perimeter of the room. Round designs are considered universal, as they fit any design.

  • Octagonal gazebo. Octagonal wooden structures are in great demand. The structures have numerous advantages, where streamlined corners play a key role. Due to this, there is a lot of space in the gazebos; up to 15 people can easily fit in such a room. Some people decide on options with a glass roof, others choose open variations. It is important that objects are made from natural raw materials. You can use: oak, alder, pine.

  • Triangular gazebo - a rare event. As a rule, they are open shed buildings, which are made in Scandinavian or half-timbered style. This shape is often used in pergola projects. There are practically no closed triangular gazebos, since they have too much non-functional space in the corners.

  • Corner gazebos Rarely installed in summer cottages. However, such unusual designs can transform any inconspicuous corner. You can put the gazebo in a secluded place and spend time with your loved ones in it. Some users find that a frame structure is suitable for this arrangement.

Also, gazebos may differ in the shape of the roof.

  • Gable roof. This is the simplest and most inexpensive option, which consists of two inclined planes. A ridge is formed in the upper part of these planes. On the sides, such a structure is limited by the front. You can create a gazebo with the same or different angles of the slopes, depending on your wishes and ideas.
  • Shed roof is also considered simple and inexpensive option. The design is an inclined plane, which is located on walls of different heights. The ramp should be located on the windward part of the structure.
  • Dome roof looks like half a ball, which rests with its circumference on a wall in the shape of a cylinder. Such roofs are convenient because snow does not stagnate on them, and they look very impressive. When choosing such a structure, keep in mind that designing an object is accompanied by certain difficulties.

  • Chinese style roof considered the most difficult. This is an original creation that is guaranteed to attract the attention of everyone around. Due to the raised corners, a large and high roof with curved shapes tends to “fly” into the sky, giving the interior of the site a special atmosphere. From the outside it may seem that the roof is tied at the corners to the clouds.

Dimensions

Many summer residents think about what dimensions to create a gazebo. These small architectural forms can have any size and appearance. By installing a structure in the shade of the garden and decorating it with plants, you will get the best place for a vacation where you can spend time with your loved ones. Some will like a large and spacious gazebo, while others will choose a mini-structure in which it is comfortable to spend time together.

The design of the gazebo can be varied. Choice suitable option depends on the preferences of the owner, as well as the general concept of landscape decoration of the entire garden. If no ideas come to mind, you can use existing ones. There are several win-win options that have long proven themselves to be the most successful:

  • A rather interesting way to locate a gazebo with a barbecue - near the neighbors.

How to use the space near the fence

A convenient option that makes optimal use of garden space is to install a gazebo next to the fence wall. You can put a gazebo in the corner of the site, but such a close location to neighbors is complicated by some regulations. There are corresponding standards regulating the distance from the fence for buildings. According to the current SNiP, buildings, which include gazebos, must be located at least 1 m from the place where the wall from the neighbors is installed.
Still, a meter is not that much.

Option to place a gazebo right next to the fence

You can arrange the structure in accordance with all the rules, but if relations with people whose plot is located next door are tense, then you should not rush with construction, since unfriendly neighbors can ruin your entire vacation and will not allow you to fully enjoy the beauty of the building and the surrounding landscape.

Discontent among neighbors can develop into hostility, so in order to avoid aggravation of the situation, it is better to resolve the issue in advance, peacefully eliminate all friction, after which you can calmly start building the long-awaited gazebo.
A gazebo placed in a boundary corner can be designed as a separate corner, fenced off from the whole world, where the owner can enjoy solitude and indulge in good rest.

With a gazebo located in the middle of the garden, this number will not work. To make a building a place of privacy, it is enough to surround it with small trees with a spreading crown or tall shrubs.

Inside the building you can place lamps and upholstered furniture. All this will help you create “your own” corner where you can do work or indulge in relaxation.

It is not necessary to build a gazebo next to the fence in the form of an island, separated from the whole world; you can build a luxurious building in any style, decorated however you like. To completely isolate yourself from your neighbors, you can install a square gazebo, in which one side faces to the neighboring plot, represents a wall.
