In this first post we tell and show how to create a hairstyle like Nastya’s in the main picture of the post. Our model, Nastya Mishchenko, has thin curly hair just below her shoulders. We asked her to come to the salon with her hair washed but not styled in any way:

And we started installation. The first thing Maxim did was apply a small amount of Scruff me from L’Oreal Professionnel’s new Wild Stylers line to his hair. This is a jelly (with a very pleasant smell, by the way), specially invented to create maximum negligence. Even thin hair immediately becomes elastic.

For a length like Nastya’s, you need very little product - about 5 pumps of the dispenser on half of the head. Each “dose” is no larger than a hazelnut. If the hair is thicker or longer - 7-8 pumps.

Then Maxim began creating “flagella”: “If your hair is a little curly on its own and you want to get bouncy, messy curls, this is the best technique.”

And then he twisted the tip inward: “This must be done so that later the ends do not hang as lifeless icicles, but curl into a curl.”

Then Maxim took a hairdryer with a diffuser. And he explained why exactly like this: “A narrow nozzle or hair dryer without a nozzle gives another stream of air, more powerful, and your flagella will fluff up. And the diffuser gives neat, frizz-free curls.”

If you dry your hair on the beach or are simply not in a hurry, you can generally do without a hair dryer. But keep in mind, flagella take a long time to dry.

At that moment, Nastya realized the full value of “flagella”: “I dried my loose hair with a diffuser. It turned out to be an explosion at a pasta factory. But it’s a completely different matter!”

Almost the final result. You just need to ruffle your hair with your hands, lifting it at the roots...

Nastya was ready to jump up and run on a date.

But Maxim decided to go further. He created an asymmetry by throwing Nastya’s hair to one side and applying Fix Design for super-strong fixation to each strand from a distance of 20-30 cm. Its advantage is that the hair retains elasticity and flexibility, but at the same time lies clearly where it is said :)

Then I attached crocodile clips to the strands in a random order to create a slightly “corrugated” effect.

Once again I applied a little spray to the entire hairstyle - just to be sure:

A little more - with the active participation of Nastya - I blew with a hairdryer in the right direction, drying the spray and making the asymmetry permanent:

And finally, having freed my hair from the crocodile clips, I treated the loose strands with Next Day Hair mattifying spray from the new Wild Stylers line: “It gives the hair a fashionable matte effect and, if applied to the roots, additional long-lasting volume.”

When leaving, Nastya received as a gift all the styling products from the Wild Stylers line that were used for this hairstyle - and homework to repeat the styling with her own hands. Here is her progress report:

“It was a terrible shame to wash my hair! And the curls held, and the volume - more than a day passed, and everything looked very decent. A couple of hours after styling, the hairstyle became even better: the curls became more elastic, curly and lay perfectly, and when I changed the parting, nothing broke or deteriorated. Class! Usually everything falls apart or deteriorates over time, but here it’s the other way around)))

But I washed my hair and then applied the first product, as Maxim showed, then I twisted the hair and started drying with a diffuser. I dried the middle and ends first, and then the roots, as Max taught me - lifting and pulling the hair at the roots. Then I sprayed it with texturizing spray and combed my fingers through my hair. The result was very pleasant, although not the same as under the guidance of a master.

There is only one fundamental difference - Maxim did the curls, and I got “waves”. But I think that for the first independent try, this is a success - before, if I got such “waves”, it was only with a curling iron, and not at all as “wild” and properly careless as I wanted. • Remember: the ends of your hair must remain straight, otherwise you will get the effect of doll curls. Don’t try to carefully twist each strand, because the beauty of this styling lies in its carelessness.
• Let the curls cool. Shake your hair well with your hands and only then distribute a small amount of sea salt spray over the entire length of your hair.
• To make your hairstyle look natural, dry your hair a little with warm air from a hairdryer. The curl will loosen and your hair will look flawless.
• Finally, you can fix your hair with hairspray.

Despite the fact that curls add elegance, femininity and beauty to the image, it is important to take into account your hair type and face shape when creating a hairstyle. It is impossible to achieve the desired effect without taking into account even the slightest nuances when creating an image.

How to make them using a diffuser?

Having prepared everything necessary materials, start creating curls:

1. After your hair is washed, it should be lightly dried with a towel to remove excess moisture.
2. A styling product is applied to the entire length of the hair. First, the roots are treated with it, and then distributed using a comb with sparse teeth along the entire length. The foam or mousse is distributed according to the growth of the hair.
3. Tilt your head down and dry your strands with a hairdryer, creating curls at the same time. You should not adhere to any frames or forms. The hairstyle should look casual.
4. When creating curls, the emphasis should be on the face area. They may be larger and more formed.
5. Next, apply varnish to the hair and use your hands to beat the resulting curls.

Creating a flat iron at home

• If the curls are very thin, you need to heat the device to 120 degrees.
• For normal hair, the maximum temperature is 160 degrees.
• If your hair is thick and coarse, you need to choose a mode from 180 to 200 degrees.

4. Once the strands are secured, use medium hold hairspray. After 20-30 minutes, the bobby pins are removed and the curls are shaken with your fingers.

Using curlers

1. Begin curling on clean and slightly damp hair from the face area. The first curlers are fixed in the middle part of the hair and at the temporal region.
2. Then the formation of the hairstyle continues strictly on both sides towards the back of the head.
3. After all the hair has been curled, use a small amount of hairspray to secure the hairstyle.
4. The curlers are held for about 30 minutes. Then carefully release the strands from them and beat them with your fingertips.
5. To consolidate the result, apply a small amount of foam or mousse.
6. Dry your hair with a hairdryer.
