Party in Greek style: costumes and gifts. Party in Greek style: entertainment, music, food

March 11, 2016

“Let the party begin in Greek style on our Olympus!” - Zeus thundered and lightning flashed. No, not those zippers that are in trouser flies. There were no trousers at all then, only sheets over the naked body. So a party with a slight erotic tint awaits you. And a zipper, by the way, can be easily made by attaching it to metal frame LED strip or a short garland with white lights.

Greek party provides an opportunity not only to have an interesting and fun time, but also to transform into gods and other bright heroes of myths Ancient Greece! And there are a lot of interesting characters: titans, gods, demigods, demons, kings, sorcerers, oracles, legendary warriors...

Let's start organizing the party, step by step considering many features, nuances, suggestions and tips.

1. Time of year and time of meeting

When we talk about the divine Mount Olympus, we imagine a picture that is pleasant to the eye: a green lawn, snow-white arches and columns, along which palmate leaves with gorgeous bunches of grapes are woven...

This themed party idea is perfect for summer birthday celebrants (the costumes will also be quite revealing). It is possible in winter, but then everything should take place in a warm room by the pool.

The holiday should be held during the daytime, because only then will it be possible to take gorgeous thematic photos on the sun-drenched grass of “Olympus”!

2. Inviting guests

It would be appropriate to arrange invitations in the form of parchment scrolls. You can make it as follows: soak regular A4 office sheets for several hours in a container with dissolved coffee and cinnamon (1 tablespoon per 1 liter of water). The paper should dry naturally; hang the sheets on clothespins until completely dry.
Write the text of the invitation card in curly capital letters in ink.

3. Greek Party Costumes

To start making or choosing outfits, you need to decide on the main characters.

Let's look at a few popular and interesting options, choosing suitable costumes and characteristic manners of behavior:

  • Titans - gods who are the ancestors of the entire “divine dynasty”. Men who decide to embody this look can attach a snow-white towel or a piece of white satin fabric of a “covering” size to their waist. The main characteristic of titans is superhuman strength, so try to focus on the upper half of the body, even if you have to make an artificial torso from the “like a god!” category. Find open sandals in the Greek style, these are perfect for absolutely every outfit! Add furrowed wide eyebrows and the gait of the Terminator - the image is ready!
  • Zeus - the strongest supreme deity, the father of gods and people. Such a character is perfect for a holiday organizer: he attracts a lot of attention and is the dominant character in a divine fairy tale. The golden crown and trident should make this super-god stand out from the rest. A suit made of white fabric a la Greek men's dress (chiton - a rectangular piece of fabric) is also in place.
  • Ares - god of War. The owner of such a “mask” must be a brutal, foul-mouthed macho! A white unbuttoned shirt, light trousers and a laurel wreath on his head - what's not a heavenly bad guy?
  • Apollo - son of Zeus, god of light, patron of muses and arts. His symbol: bow and lyre. The standard of beauty and proportionality of the male figure must open his body to the gaze of others. The silhouette of a ballet dancer would be suitable, but this is for the very brave Apollos! Moreover, it’s not at all difficult to organize white tights and a piece of white fabric!
  • Dionysus - God of winemaking, fun and orgies. Suitable for cheerful and reckless ringleaders. A glass of wine in your hand and a lustful girl in your arms are a must!
  • Hercules - demigod, son of Zeus. It is better to rent a hero costume, since making it with your own hands is not so easy. Remember that Hercules is not exactly a god, so he can afford a more complete form of clothing, but still in keeping with the Greek style of the time! Girlfriend Xena, the warrior princess, will become a wonderful companion to the mythical hero.
  • Aphrodite - goddess of love and beauty. A light look - a long white or peach dress, a pearl necklace, gold jewelry and henna painting on the body. A high hairstyle with curls, or loose hair in curls. Natural makeup.
  • Eris - goddess of discord and chaos. A bad girl in a revealing dress, maybe heels, brighter makeup with expressive eyes. Ambiguous expressions, caustic jokes and a slight grin on her face - this is the image of a real queen of discord.
  • Eirene - goddess of peace. Light colors suit her simple hairstyle in Greek style, shining light makeup. Friendly attitude towards everyone.

4. Festive decoration of the area and some ideas

Choose an open area - a lawn near a river or in a country house.

Don't forget that photos in the park between the trees, on alleys and near columns (often found in large parks) will be stunning. Hire a professional photographer to achieve quality images worthy of the gods!

White, gold, silver, lace symbolizes the wealth and luxury of the almighty. Contrasting green color personifies harmony and unity with nature! Outdoor tables. Harps, Cupid's bow and arrows, white feathers from an angel who has just flown away will perfectly highlight the idea - try to organize these attributes.

Posters with famous “divine” films, beautiful author’s photos, paintings.

White air balloons, satin and rope ribbons will be great decorations at a Greek party!

5. Menu, drinks and festive table decoration

Important! Olives, lemons and honey are not only the main accent of the festive divine table, but also a dish and decor for the entire party!

The gods love luxury, harmony, and idyll, so Slavic tables with jellied meat and dumplings would be inappropriate!

Ideally, arrange an exquisite buffet with all sorts of pancake envelopes, beautiful sandwiches, canapés with olives and hard cheese, light fruit and vegetable salads (preferably in portions), crackers with butter, bell pepper with feta... Greek salad and Greek coffee are a priority!

Decorate the table with a beautiful lace tablecloth and festive white napkins. If possible, use white and gold colors as much as possible.

Keep in mind that white and peach orchids, roses, lilies in clear or white tall vases look divine! Large bunches of grapes different varieties in baskets - another thematic addition to the earthly Olympus.

For dessert - fluffy cakes and ice cream, if possible. Baklava with honey and walnuts- a delicacy is a must. Don't forget about the themed cake.

Drinks: red and white wines, champagne, it is advisable to add to the range strawberry liqueur. Non-alcoholic drinks include mojito, lemonade with slices of citrus and mint, tea and coffee.

Dishes of Greek cuisine can be viewed.

6. Competitions for a Greek-style party

Choose the musical accompaniment for the holiday to suit your taste. Costumes will not be conducive to rock and twist tracks. Therefore, carefully select suitable hits for the dance part of the celebration.

And now games and competitions.

Competition "Saving Greek Salad"

Two participants must save a dish prepared for Zeus from worms, which the evil Hera sent as a curse. There should not be a single worm left in the sacred dish.

Give the competitors a large container (so that the head fits freely), into which put a standard portion of Greek salad. Place 5-10 gummy worms in each dish.
The task is to pull everything out without hands. The one who does it faster wins. Have time to take a photo of the messy ones.

Competition "Apple of Aphrodite"

Aphrodite is a flirtatious and somewhat frivolous woman.

The men stand in a circle and dance around the temptress, who, blindfolded, dances with an apple in her hands. A few seconds later he hands it to one of the guys at random. The music turns off, and the guys quickly move further, in a circle a few steps, and the chosen one hides the apple behind his back (everyone also has their hands hidden behind their backs). The girl must guess the chosen one, if she succeeds, she kisses him on the cheek and leaves the game with him, giving way to the new Aphrodite. If you don’t guess correctly, you try your luck 2 more times until the end of 3 attempts. The more random pairs are formed, the more successful the competition was.

Competition "Initiation into the Spartan ranks"

How to become part of the strongest Spartan troops? Arrange such a casting for several interested people. To begin, organize an obstacle course: 4-5 chairs, past which you need to run a snake; a thin ribbon - walk on your toes without stumbling; book on your head a couple of meters before the finish line and all this with quail egg in the teeth. Not only speed and dexterity are tested, but also the ability to protect a trusted treasure.

Just wash the quail eggs thoroughly!

Competition “Throwing Lightning Bolts of Zeus”

Props will need to be prepared in advance. Make fake zippers. They can be cut out of plywood with a jigsaw or made from a metal rod. Place dolls and other toys (people, houses) to be mercilessly shot by lightning. All guests take part in turn. Announce that the task is to shoot down all the targets as quickly as possible. Record each participant's time. Hand the fastest thrower a pack of condoms with the words: “Here, quick shooter.”

Contest " Olympic Games»

Where would we be without sporting competitions? There is no need to bore guests with super-heavy competitions, but you can use a parody of them. Have a triathlon. According to ancient tradition, only men participated in the games. But this is at your discretion. The first stage: race to get from start to finish, alternately moving your legs one after another, touching your toe to your heel. Second stage: discus throwing, instead use disposable plastic plates (3 attempts each). Third stage: long jumps, during which you need to squeeze your armpits or just damp hands chicken eggs(the jump is counted only if the eggs are not dropped and remain intact).

Laurel Crown Competition

Give two participants foil bay leaf blanks, a stapler, and a wire crown base. Check out who made the divine crown faster and more beautiful!

Incentive prizes: a bottle of wine, films: “Hercules”, “Wrath of the Titans”, “Bruce Almighty”, sweets with a reference to Greece.

Themed parties bring not only the pleasure of entertainment, fun and communication, but also broaden your horizons, help you show creativity and creativity! And of course juicy photos for a page on a social network.

WEDDING SCENARIO IN GREEK STYLE.

If a tunic suits you, sandals look charming on your feet, and your groom resembles a Greek god, then this is undoubtedly the wedding for you. But in order for such a wedding to turn out bright and memorable, you will have to try. Here, more than anywhere else, ambiance and attention to detail are needed.
Everything is important: from the bride’s hairstyle to the patterns on the walls. Of course, it’s difficult to imagine such a wedding in winter. It is better to celebrate such a wedding in the summer or, for that matter, in some warm country. It’s hard to imagine guests in sandals and thin tunics among the snow.
Helpers can take care of the surroundings. In fact, it is not for the bride to decorate the wedding venue. The main thing is to remember the saying that “Greece has everything” and follow it. “Abundance” should be the wedding motto.
Pottery on the tables, vases with flowers, with fruits, jugs with wine, decorative columns, Greek ornaments. This will also include a marine theme: decorations in the form of ancient Greek ships. Military theme swords, shields, helmets.
Generally the main colors are sea green white, green and red.
Invitations can be written in hexameter, or at least let them contain an element of Greek ornament. On the tables: seafood, fish, olives, definitely and without fail - olive oil, this is “liquid gold” fruit, grapes.
Not every woman will risk putting on a tunic and not every man, having tried on sandals, will agree to walk in them. So take care of yourself small details, which will remind you of the wedding theme, and which can be handed out to guests upon entry. Greek masks: tragedy and comedy, that is, with a smile and sad. Anyone will gladly take them. Bracelets, cups for young people and their parents, penalty cup.
The toastmaster, of course, is dressed in Greek attire. The roles of gods and goddesses can be pre-distributed to active guests by giving them prepared costumes.

Toastmaster: We have all gathered here to glorify the young family!
The gods descended to earth to congratulate them together,
I have prepared gifts for them, but everyone is ready to be tested
Here to expose them to make love even stronger!
Dear noble guests, today the gods descended from the heights of Olympus to congratulate the young family, present them with gifts and subject them to tests. I ask you to take part in the fate of the young spouses.

The toastmaster distributes masks (tragedy and comedy) to the guests and warns that the guests, at his quiet command, apply one mask or another.

MEETING OF THE YOUNG.
It would be nice if the young people arrived on some kind of improvised chariot. You can at least make it out of cardboard, some details, huge wheels and the chariot is ready.
From this moment on, the toastmaster, if necessary, shows the guests (ancient Greek choir) which mask to try on.

The newlyweds are greeted pompously and showered with roses.

Toastmaster: Glory to you, young ones, like young roses.
Hail, bride and groom, betrothed by heaven itself!
The newlyweds are greeted by their parents
Mother-in-law puts a wreath on her son-in-law's head
Mother-in-law: Be kind and generous,
Strong and wise, and deeds for the sake of his beloved
You always do it!
Mother-in-law puts a wreath on her daughter-in-law's head
Mother-in-law: May you be wise and beautiful.
Love your spouse tenderly and be faithful to him,
And your feat will be no less.
Toastmaster: So, are the young people worthy of these laurel wreaths?
(Shows a sad mask, and everyone puts on sad masks)
Toastmaster: It's time to put yourself to the test to make sure you are worthy! So Aphrodite herself descended to earth, the goddess of love
Aphrodite with a cup in her hands.
Aphrodite: This cup contains the wine of eternal youth. I brought it as a gift to the newlyweds. But for this they must tell everyone about their love
Taking a sip, each of them must say how much he loves his spouse.
The groom takes a sip.
Groom: I love my Tanya like the stars love the moon!
The bride takes a sip. Bride: I love my Alexey like birds love the sky!
Etc. Young people practice eloquence.
Aphrodite: Well, these speeches are pleasant to the goddess, but is everything in them true?!
Spectators try on tragic masks.
Aphrodite: How will you prove that your love is not empty words?
If the young people don’t realize,
Aphrodite:
You drank wine, but your guests didn’t drink it, they think it’s bitter!
The choir shouts "bitterly"
Young people kiss
Aphrodite to parents:
Your children have become adults, they love each other. But I know that you also love each other, after many years.
Aphrodite invites the parents to drink from the cup of eternal youth, saying how much they love each other.
Both sets of parents then kiss.
Aphrodite: This is eternal youth! Love is her name, and only she will be eternal, and only she is young.
Aphrodite leaves.
Young people are seated at the table
The toastmaster advises the guests to eat as much as possible, since they will have to help the young people. And he also advises practicing public speaking, that is, making toasts. Toasts don't have to be written in hexameter.

TASK FOR THE GROOM.
Toastmaster: Do the venerable guests remember the feat of Perseus, who was not afraid to fight the Gorgon jellyfish and fought with sea monsters to save Andromeda?
The groom will have to undergo the tests that Perseus passed
And save your beloved from sea monsters.
First he must kill the Gorgon Medusa.
The toastmaster calms everyone down and says that it is not customary to kill anyone at a wedding feast, and that even if your neighbor looks like a gorgon jellyfish, this is only a sign that you haven’t drunk enough wine.
But still, the groom will have to prove his dexterity.
The groom is given a large mirror and a pencil... He must draw, holding the pencil behind his back, something on paper, looking in the mirror, but without turning around. Or he will have to write the name of his beloved.
When the young man has passed this test, he must save his bride.
The bride is symbolically tied to a rock. A couple of guests are dressed up as monsters.
But again, no one will kill anyone, you just need to lull the vigilance of the sea monsters, for this the groom must tell some fairy tale or sing a song about love... and all the monsters will fall asleep or, moved, cry and free the bride.
There is another option: the groom must talk about how he met the bride and fell in love with her. The more touching the story, the faster the monsters will release the bride. First, the toastmaster must explain that monsters love watching TV shows about love more than anything else, even though they pretend to be evil and cruel.
The bride is free. Having practiced their eloquence, the guests eat.
Athena
Toastmaster: Noble guests, the goddess Athena herself came to our wedding feast! Athena is a healer, Athena is a craftswoman, Athena is the patroness of music. She invented the flute and ships, states and wars, she patronizes marriages and helps happy children. She taught women to weave and spin, she planted the first olive tree on earth.
The bride has to appease the goddess.
TASK FOR THE BRIDE
The bride must prepare the goddess Athena's favorite dish, but first she has to guess what Athena's favorite food is.
Beforehand, the toastmaster can tell a story about how
Poseidon and Athena argued for power over Attica. It was decided which of them would present the most useful gift to the residents would become the ruler. Poseidon was the first to enter Attica and hit the ground with his trident and a source of sea water appeared. Athena appeared behind him, she hit the ground with a spear and an olive tree grew in that place. According to the decision of the judges, it was Athena who was recognized as the winner, since her gift was more useful, the city was named after her, Poseidon was angry and tried to flood the earth with the sea, but Zeus forbade him.
The bride prepares a dish with olive oil, for example, a Greek salad. Her friends help her. Athena tries the dish and likes it.
The toastmaster reminds that Athena is also called a craftswoman and healer. The bride is offered to meet another form of the goddess.
If she chooses Athena, a craftswoman, she must sew a small simple doll, calling it Athena, or sew on at least a couple of buttons. The husband is offered to help her.
If the bride has chosen a healer, then she can prepare medicinal tea for her husband, choosing the necessary ones from among the unnecessary ingredients. For example, set aside the garlic, grate the ginger and chop the mint.
Satisfied, Athena leaves.
The gods can be calm for this seven young woman.
There is now a mistress in the house, and the maiden knows a lot.
I wish you love and healthy children,
Sweet girls and boys, strong and strong!
Athena gives some doll to the bride and leaves.
The toastmaster says that it’s time for the young people to rest, and the guests will have to go through the tests.
And he calls God Dionysius.

TASK FOR GUESTS.
Dionysus is the god of plants and grapes, the god of winemaking. Thanks to him, theatrical art was born on earth, comedy and tragedy appeared.
Tests for men. Who will drink more wine blindfolded or blindfolded?
Whoever wins gets a bottle of expensive wine.
Test for women: dance of the bacchantes. The Bacchae must dance around Dionysius. Ta. The one who dances the best receives a reward: a decoration or a scarf.
The toastmaster warns against excessive enthusiasm, because excessive worship of this god can give rise to madness.
The toastmaster offers to appease Dionysius with his favorite Greek dance.
Options: young people dance.
Anyone can dance, but blindfolded.
Dionysius: Dionysius was very pleased today.
He will give this gift to the young family.
May fun and joy always reign in her.
Let tragedy not come along with sadness
To this threshold, and greet each other with a smile!
God gives the family a bunch of grapes. She will bring abundance and joy to the family. But you need to eat it in a special way. The bride must tear off the berries with her mouth and feed the groom “from her beak.”
Guests who wish are invited to repeat this in pairs.
Young people kiss
Toastmaster: Since you love each other so much, it means that the arrow of Eros struck you.
But his arrows do not always bring joy; sometimes they bring suffering and disappointment. If suddenly Eros misses and hits the wrong heart.
And here he himself came to our feast!
The role of Eros is played by some child or young man.
Men are invited to a shooting competition to please Eros.
They can shoot at hearts drawn or made from cardboard.
Whoever gets in will receive the title of Chief Cupid.
But little Eros wants to make sure that the arrows hit their target. And he asks the young people how they will prove their love. Young people kiss. But this is not enough!
Eros: Prove that you know your loved one, that you feel him or her and will never confuse him or her with anyone else.

The groom must blindfolded find his beloved:
By hand
By leg
By laughter

The bride must find her beloved while also blindfolded
By hand
on the leg
By voice
Have several men call her name loudly or in a whisper.

Having congratulated the newlyweds, Eros leaves and asks for a parting gift for the newlyweds. A gift is a reminder.
On a sheet of whatman paper, each one draws a heart pierced by an arrow, and in each one there is a wish for the young or a reminder of why you need to love her or him, serious and playful. For example: Love Tatyana because she is the kindest.
Love Alexey because he has a mustache.

Toastmaster: And God, who is now coming down to us, has been watching over you from the very beginning of today. This is the god of marriage and weddings, Hymen! God personifying the song of love!
A deity personifying the song of love itself.
Hymen says that she was looking forward to today's event so much that he knew it had to happen. He believes that this is the most beautiful couple on earth. And asks to sing a song about love.

First, the guests compete to see who knows the most love songs.
But then Hymen says that for such an occasion there should be its own, special song. That it needs to be invented right now. Hymen asks the friends of the bride and groom to help them with the song.

There is no more beautiful girl in the world than our bride (or name)
Her figure and face are like the goddess of Olympus
And she shone with kindness and intelligence and talent
Hail, beautiful maiden (or name) under the sun of Hellas!

There is no better husband in the world than ours (name).
With his strength he will glorify Hellas forever
He will accomplish many feats for the sake of his dear one.
He is brave, kind and generous, an Olympian god.

May the young family be in love forever
Let neither her food nor sorrow touch her
May she never incur the wrath of the gods.
Let the joyful home be filled with children's songs

Toastmaster: Well, dear ones, you have so pleased Hymen and the patron god of the arts Apollo with your creativity that now these gods will always patronize our lovers.

It would be appropriate here if one of the young people sings well or plays some instrument - ask them to sing or play in order to please Apollo once again.
A performance by a professional artist is also appropriate here. At such a wedding, for example, the harp will be amazing to listen to. In our city there are young harpists playing the Celtic or levers harp.
But then a roar is heard.
Toastmaster: It is Zeus himself who is angry. We did not give him any gift or offering. How to avoid his wrath? We know that the smart Greeks came up with the Olympic Games to please the gods.
Let's also hold on to the small Olympic Games.
Of course, the competition will be funny.

The concept of gravity: men lift women in their arms and carry them.

Running in pairs. With legs tied to each other (one leg at a time)

Long jump. (for a gift. Whoever jumps will receive a gift)
Etc.
After the “Olympic Games”, the winners are awarded laurel wreaths, but not like those of the bride and groom.

Voice of Zeus (or a guest dressed up as Zeus)
Your games brought joy to the gods today.
Songs and dances and your love are only joy.
May she never fade away in your heart
Only love conquers, saves and heals
Only love on earth is worthy of worship
Only she brought you to heaven today
May love bring you only happiness and joy!
Your union will be worthy of Olympus and the Sun!
Only today does the wine in this cup taste bitter to me.
Bitter is bitter for me, but who will make me sweet?!

The newlyweds kiss, are showered with roses and are seen off to a long, happy life.

You can add different gods, coming up with other tests for the young and guests. The main thing is not to overdo it, because a wedding cannot be a complete ordeal!

We need to stock up on a large number of gifts for the winners, laurel wreaths, and give water to the guilty ones from the penalty cup.
You can make a movie based on some myth of Ancient Greece. Right there, we distributed the roles and came up with minimal costumes. Such a film will leave memories of the wedding for a long time. The main roles are the heroes of the occasion.
And remember - behind all this fuss, behind all the details and surroundings, it is important not to forget that this is still your wedding, that even if something did not go as planned, it should not overshadow the identity and fun that is present not only in the form of masks.

Greek writing is alphabetic (letter). In Greece, letters appeared to convey vowel sounds, which was a new stage in the development of writing. The classical pan-Greek alphabet consists of 27 letters, which served
also for designating numbers. The modern Greek alphabet has 24 letters and is read from left to right, like Russian.

(Zeus enters to the accompaniment of fanfare and climbs the mountains)

- I, Zeus! I came down from Olympus to congratulate you on your festival and tell you a little about Ancient and Modern Greece. So where did it all start?
And even though Olympus has been gone for a long time,
And even though I’m unlikely to meet Athena,
It burns in each of us in the soul,
A piece of the Olympic flame.

Greece is the birthplace of the Olympic Games.

The first Olympiad, known to us since ancient times, took place in 776 BC. All wars stopped during the Olympic Games. The games were held in Olympia, a grove along the Alpheus River, every four years.
The Greek Festival officially lasted five days. At the Olympic Games there were competitions: running, chariot racing, throwing, wrestling.

(Mezzanine. someone depicts running, throwing a spear, fighting)

The distant land of distant truths,
And antiquity is before you, child!

You are lined with wondrous mountains,
Looking through the eyes of memory...

Olympus smiled
Tartarus swayed
After all, Prometheus is
I found the fire.

Once upon a time the glorious Prometheus
Got fire. And for the people
He was brought from Olympus.
And Zeus was very angry.

Gave the order and nailed it down
Him to the rock forever.
A man couldn't stand it
But Prometheus was a hero!

He endured everything: in his chains
Was doomed to pain and fear:
The eagle pecked him at night,
Even though he rattled his chains loudly,
But he was tied up and chained.

Forever arrested.
And only Hercules many years later
Zeus violated that ban
And he saved Prometheus!

I am in awe of him
All of Greece now lives
And he sings the glory of the feat!

Scene "Prometheus".

MYTH OF PROMETHEUS.

Prometheus:- Hello, Hephaestus!
Hephaestus:- Hello, Prometheus!
Prometheus:- Look what I brought - this is a sharp stone! Tie it to a stick, and with its help you can hollow out a boat, you can dig up the ground, and protect yourself from the beast.
(Hephaestus is making something, Prometheus is looking at the fire)
Hephaestus:- Prometheus, what are you thinking about?
Prometheus:– I was on Earth. People need fire.
Hephaestus:“But you know that without Zeus’ permission I cannot give you the sacred fire.” Do you understand what you're up to? Do you want their mind and heart to become enlightened? If they receive the sacred fire, they will become like GODS. How will they distinguish gods from people? Have you thought about how confusing it could be? No, it's better to let everything be as it is.

(Hephaestus imitates the movements of a blacksmith, Prometheus steps aside. People appear and pray to the gods.)

People: OH GODS! Send warmth, we are dying from the cold!
Prometheus: Come what may, I will help people!
(Hephaestus leaves. Prometheus steals fire and gives it to people.)
Hephaestus:- Can't be! Prometheus stole the fire after all - there is no one else!
(Zeus sends a flood to the earth, all the lights go out.)
Zeus:- Let it rain heavily on the earth!!!
(It rains, the lights go out, everyone leaves.)
Prometheus:- Live the human race!
(Gives last language fire to people)
Hephaestus:- Why did you do this, Prometheus?
Prometheus:– I wanted to help people!
(Hephaestus chains Prometheus to a rock. People appear.)
People:– We will save your fire, Prometheus!
(People leave. Hercules and Titan appear. Titan holds the sky. Hercules approaches him.)
Hercules:- I am Hercules. And who are you?
Titanium:– I am Titan, I hold the sky.
Hercules:– Do you know where I can get Hesperides apples?
Titanium:- I know. Hold up the sky while I run after them.
(Hercules stands under the vault of heaven. The Titan goes for apples, brings them, shows them and wants to leave.)
Titanium:- Look, I brought apples of longevity. I see you're good at holding up the sky. I then went. Now it's your turn to hold up the firmament.
(Hercules uses a trick.)
Hercules:“Wait, help me at least position myself more comfortably under him.”
Titanium:- Okay, settle down, I'll hold him.
(While the Titan is holding the vault, Hercules grabs the apples and runs away. He approaches Prometheus’s rock. An eagle appears and pecks at Prometheus’ liver.)
Hercules:- Oh, Prometheus! I will help you! I will kill the eagle that is pecking at your liver. (Fights)
Hercules:– I have apples of eternal youth and longevity from the garden of the Hesperides. I'll pour in the juice of this apple. (Pours in.)
(Prometheus comes to life.)
Hercules:- Prometheus, where is your sacred fire?
Prometheus:- Here (points to heart). It burns in the human soul.
Hercules:– Praise be to you, great Prometheus!

There is a popular legend that the mountain to which Prometheus was chained is located in the Jingirika region.

Scene "Argonauts".
The king of Colchis (Eris) had the GOLDEN FLEECE. The fame of the GOLDEN FLEECE spread far: whoever owns the Golden Fleece will gain happiness and power. All the heroes of Hellas gathered to build a ship called “Argo” (Orpheus, Hercules, Perseus, etc.) The Argonauts most of all wanted a cheerful wind, and wanted to accomplish a feat. The bow of the ship was decorated with a statue of Pallas Athena. This ship was led by Jason.
The path of the Argonauts was not easy: there were rocks on the way (Children depict mountains holding hands. When a ship passes, children unclasp their hands.), they were met by sirens: half-birds - half-women, who lured the sailors with their singing and killed them. Portable – beauties, enchanting with their voices (depicting sirens)
JASON:
- Hello, King of Colchis! Give me the GOLDEN FLEECE.
KING (ERID):
– Provided that you fulfill 3 conditions: in one day you
you will plow the field, sow it and reap the harvest.
JASON:
“I’m not a plowman, I’m a warrior!”
MEDEA (daughter of the king of Colchis):
- I will help you, Jason! When the seedlings grow, throw a stone into the middle of the field!
(Jason throws a stone, takes the GOLDEN FLEECE and takes Medea with him).
The GOLDEN FLEECE was placed in the temple of Athena.
Light up your new path for Jason, bright-eyed Virgin Pallas.

The Argonauts are sailing, Orpheus' lyre is ringing,
New juices are awakening in the gardens of the Hesperides,
And the Cretan maiden weaves a thread of return,
And the glory of her leaves the deep labyrinth.

Ancient Greece.
The culture of Greece has been formed over many thousands of years, starting from the time of the Minoan civilization.

The first inhabitants appeared in Greece about 40,000 years ago. The first great European civilization, the Minoan (named after the mythological king Minos), arose on the island of Crete. The Minoans were good farmers, hunters, and builders. They knew how to trade well. They created their own writing.

Around 1450 BC. The Minoan civilization comes to an end. From 160 to 1100 BC The Achaean tribes (Mycenaeans) invaded the Greek mainland. They lived in small states, in the center of which there was a fortified city. Cities were built on high hills for protection from enemies, surrounded by a large ring of fortress walls. This type of fortified city was called an acropolis (Kremlin, upper city). The royal palace was located here, and nearby there were houses for services, artisans and soldiers. The Mycenaeans were a warlike people: they had armor, chariots, and foot soldiers. The ancient Greek poet Homer in his poem “Illada” spoke about the Mycenaeans and the Trojan War. (1240-1230 BC) - the reason for the beautiful Helen from Sparta, who fled with King Paris from her husband Menelaus, brother of King Agamemnon from Mycenae . They decided to take revenge on the Trojans and conquer Troy. For 10 years they tried to subjugate the city. Then King Odysseus of Ithaca resorted to a trick: they built a wooden horse, inside there were several Mycenaean warriors, who at night opened the gates to their soldiers.
In 1100 BC. Mycenaean culture ceased to exist.
Alexander the Great (2nd-3rd century BC)
After his death, Greece split into three parts: Macedonia, Persia and Egypt.
The period between the death of Alexander and the fall of the Greek Empire in 30 BC. is called Hellistic. The main city in Egypt, Alexandria - the center of learning and art (Pythagoras, Euclid - mathematicians; Ptolemy - studied movements celestial bodies, the flowering of medicine).
The Greek Empire fell into decline after Alexander's death and was conquered by the Romans. Egypt lasted the longest, where Cleopatra ruled, realizing that she could not defend her state, she committed suicide.

Culture of Greece.

Until now, in European art, Greek culture serves as a standard of excellence. Many cultures look up to it.
On our territory since the end of the 9th century. Byzantine (Greek) influence on the Alans increases. Byzantine missionaries launched extensive church construction. Today, on the territory of our republics, the Sentinsky, Shoaninsky and Arkhyz temples are protected as unique historical and architectural monuments.
Byzantine (Greek) frescoes and remains of Greek inscriptions have survived to this day.
First, Greece was conquered by the Romans, then by Türkiye. Therefore, the culture of Rome and Turkey influenced Greek culture. Russia helped Greece: it liberated it from the Turks. From 1856 to 1866, Greeks moved to the northern Caucasus in the Kuban region. Here we have the village of Khasaut-Grechesky, on the bank of the Aksaut River, above the village of Kardonikskaya, as well as the village of Sparta - on the right bank of the Bolshoi Zelenchuk River. The name of this village reminds us of the ancient state of Sparta, where the Spartans lived - very strong, courageous and who loved freedom.
After the Russian-Turkish War, a lot of Pontic Greeks moved to Russia. They moved both on land and along the Black Sea.
A section of the Great Silk Road passed through the North Caucasus.
In the North Caucasus, the Pontic Greeks formed 10 groups.
(Sochi, Tuapse, Gelendzhik, Anapa, Crimean, Abinsk-Seversk, Goryacheklyuchevsk, Apsheron, Maikop-Beloresk, Stavropol-Pyatigorsk (village Khasaut-Grechesky, village Sparta)).
When the Second World War began, fascist Germany attacked not only our country, but also Greece and other countries.
During the years of Stalinist repressions, Pontic Greeks were subjected to mass eviction in Central Asia and Siberia, as well as the peoples inhabiting the North Caucasus.

National traditions.

There are national characteristics in every country in the world. But the national characteristics in Greece are Greece itself, its nerve, style, its unique way of life and way of life.
Greeks know how to enjoy life to the fullest. They want to have a good time and live for their own pleasure here and now, and tomorrow... it will be tomorrow!
The cherished dream of a Greek is to get rich as soon as possible. But it wouldn’t occur to him to save money. He needs money to spend.

You should not enter the monastery in shorts or miniskirts, and refuse refreshments in village houses.
The Greeks are in no hurry. It happens that in a restaurant you have to wait a long time for your order, and even longer for the bill. You should not leave a restaurant without leaving a tip. Nevertheless, the Greeks keep their promises, especially when it comes to business. True, there may be some delay with the timing. The Greeks are very hospitable.
The Greeks believe in strength evil eye. Adults and children wear a turquoise bead as an amulet, sometimes with an eye drawn on it.
A Greek will never praise someone's elegance and beauty, especially children, without spitting three times and knocking on wood. This is done to avert the envy of the gods from the one you praise, just like with us.

Happy New Year. In the old days, they had to bring a pomegranate fruit and, upon entering the house, throw it on the floor. Scattered grains, according to legend, were supposed to bring prosperity throughout the year.
A wonderful custom relates to the baptism of a child: godparents must give him a gold cross on a chain plus a full set of Sunday clothes, including shoes, otherwise it will be considered that the godson will stumble through life and will never have enough clothes.

Poetry

Ripe olives turn black
In the green foliage.
Helios launches from the sky
Sultry rays.

Poseidon drives the surf,
Nereids in the foam of the waves.
In the vineyards of the bacchantes
They dance in the sweetness of the vapors.

Gently strings of the lyre to the throne,
I'll feed Pegasus
And I will stroke the wing.

Greece will extend its hands
In its dark beauty -
And already in a golden tunic
I'm running among the fields.

Ah, Greece! The dream of my soul!
You are a tender fairy tale, but I am more tender to you,
More tenderly than to Hector, the hero, Andromache.
Take your sword. Be Serbia's sister

The main traditional holidays coincide with ours. This:

Greece honors the heroic past and calls for a happy future. Concerts and exhibitions are held on this day.

Greek games.
Tavli is the favorite game of Greek men in kafenion coffee houses. The Greek word tavli comes from the word tavla, translated as board.
The game is played on a board divided into two sections, each marked with 12 narrow wedges or dotted lines. In other words, 24 wedges on the entire playing field. Each player has 15 chips. Movement paths are determined by the dice thrown.

Tavli is definitely not a game of chance, but a game of strategy based on skill, intuition and psychology. In Greece there are three main versions of the rules of the game.
Portes (doors) game more or less corresponds to the rules of backgammon familiar in Russia.
The second version is called plakoto (from Greek word plakono, translated - hide). The third option is known as fevga (launch or fast).
In all three games, the idea is to be the first to have his pieces move from the starting position to the victory zone.

Ball game on horses.
Purpose of the game: development of endurance, eye, strengthening of the musculoskeletal system.
They usually play in a large group. Players stand in pairs in a circle. Calculated on the first or second. The first number sits on the back of the second. The rider who starts the game throws the ball to the other rider. He throws to the third, etc. The ball is passed continuously and without any system.
Rules of the game:
The player who dropped the ball is punished by changing places with the horse.
Develops: endurance, eye

Catch the one with the pebble
Purpose of the game: development of attentiveness and speed.
At least five people take part in the game. The players line up on the playing court in one line, with the game director or the chosen leader standing opposite them. Players keep their arms extended forward with palms folded.

The leader of the game has a pebble, he walks in front of the line and pretends as if he wants to put it in the palms of the players. Then he quietly drops the pebble into someone’s palms. The one who gets the stone runs to a predetermined point and back to return the stone to the leader. The rest of the players chase him and try to catch him while he is in the field. It is no longer possible to grab him on the line.
Rules of the game:
if the player returns back and no one can catch him, in the next round he takes the place of the leader;
if a player is caught, the player who first touched the one who ran will take the leading position.

Greek cuisine.

One of the most important Greek national characteristics– this is a universal love for Greek cuisine. Greeks love to eat a lot, tasty and elegant. Greek cuisine is its own world, its own national taste.

Each of us has tried to throw a Greek-style party at least once in our lives. In schools, universities, and student fraternities, there are even special rites of passage into the ranks of the highest hierarchy, through passing “Greek-style tests.” Why is this topic so popular? Perhaps because of the colorfulness of the people as such, perhaps because of the popularity of the culture in the world, or maybe simply because organizing such a holiday is not at all difficult. Unusual Greece is in the palm of your hand here and now as a gift from me, Dikmi!

PREPARATION FOR THE GREEK HOLIDAY

Your invitation cards should “breathe” with the Greek theme, they should be imbued with it through and through. Pick up something on sale with columns of ancient Greek temples, ivy leaves and wild grapes, or draw an olive tree in a bottle using a computer program. Thanks to this symbolic content, your guests will also have a blissful anticipation of the great Greek holiday in their souls!

If you want to surprise and show off your imagination, and there is plenty of time left before the holiday, you can make invitation cards with your own hands. I can offer some exclusive ideas!

Idea 1. Ancient scroll

If you are planning to make the main emphasis at your party on the actions of the persons of divine Olympus and recreate the first Olympic Games again, the idea of inviting guests to your holiday through an ancient manuscript is the best idea for you!

Ancient Greek suvoy and invitation text written in an elaborate font in real ink and by hand is a great idea for an invitation that will immediately set the tone for the whole party!

What you will need:

A sheet of xerox white paper;

1 liter of natural grape juice;

Lighter (matches), ribbon.

How to do:

1. Dip a sheet of white paper into grape juice for a few minutes and dry thoroughly.

2. Use a lighter to age the edges of the sheet.

3. Write the invitation text, roll the “scroll” into a tube and secure with ribbon.

The ribbon for such an invitation can be either blue (to match the favorite color of Greek beauties and statesmen) or gold (since the ancient Greeks greatly valued and respected this noble metal).

More modern version invitation card made in the shape of a suvoy - “Divine Apple”.

For a scroll like this, you don't have to give the white sheet a yellowish, aged tint with grape juice. You just need to write the text, roll the “message” into a tube and attach to it a “label” with the imprint of half a red apple. The “imprint” can either be painted with ordinary stationery gouache (or honey watercolor), or actually made with half an apple (after first applying durable batik paint to the fruit). When the drawing dries a little, tie the “label” to the souvenir with a red, festive ribbon (after all, red is the favorite color of the goddess Aphrodite).

Idea 2. Chariots of medieval Hellas

Such a postcard will become a real holiday decoration if you want to emphasize the unique culture, music, dance, theater, and manners of the developed Byzantine state. Find a similar black and white cute picture (depicting famous chariots) on the Internet, print it in the quantity you need (according to the number of people invited to the holiday). And, we can say that half of the postcard is ready!

What else will you need:

1 sheet each of black and white cardboard;

A sheet of blue colored paper;

0.5 m of blue satin ribbon (1 cm wide) and two rhinestones;

Scissors, glue, stapler.

How to assemble a postcard:

1. Fold a sheet of white cardboard in half lengthwise (like a book).

2. Glue a rectangle of black cardboard (0.5 cm smaller in size) from the base to the front side of the workpiece.

3. Glue a black and white Greek style picture of a chariot to the black rectangle.

4. Cut the blue ribbon in half. Using a stapler, secure the two halves of the ribbon at the top and bottom of the front of the card, tucking the edges under the black cardstock and securing with glue. Tie the free ends of the ribbon with a bow (to make the bow tougher, do not make the loops too long).

5. Decorate the card with a label with the recipient's name and rhinestones.

6. Inside, insert the text of the invitation, printed on a sheet of blue colored paper.

Idea 3. Dressing room of a Greek actress

Another option for a sophisticated holiday in the style of the “cradle of culture” of the European world.

For this postcard you will need:

Envelope made of brown thick oiled paper;

Lace and burgundy wide ribbon;

A sheet of white cardboard;

Ink stamps.

How to do:

1. First, you need to make the most beautiful part of the card - the envelope. Take an ink stamp with a floral print (there are plenty of such sets in children's goods departments, find the one that suits you best personally), and decorate a brown envelope with ink flowers.

2. Then - dip the white lace into fabric paint, remove it after a few seconds (in no case do not hold it for long, since we only need partial dyeing). Let it dry.

3. Glue the lace to the right side of the envelope.

4. On white cardboard, write (or print) the text of the invitation (it is better if the text is presented in the form of a verse) and put the sheet in an envelope.

5. Tie the finished invitation with a wide burgundy ribbon and send it to the recipient!

The parchment envelope can be replaced with a simple paper one with ready-made flowers that “play” to match the lace (if you suddenly don’t have time to bother with ink, but really want to make such a card).

Idea 4. Olive oil

Greek olive oil is highly valued throughout the world. Why, it makes up almost a third of the country’s exports! Why don’t you, too, when inviting guests to your original holiday, give them a bottle of precious oil as a gift? Buy small bottles, decorate them with strings of beads (to look like pearls), and replace the label with an invitation text. It will be great and very original!

If you are going to invite a lot of guests to the holiday and are afraid that the party budget will not support such expenses on invitations (after all, good olive oil is not cheap), you can make cards in the shape of an oil bottle from cardboard.

Decorate the invitation with rhinestones and white ribbon, and place the text on the back of the “bottle”.

And one more tip: Even if at first glance you have a lot of time, do not detain your attention for long on preparing invitation cards. Hurry up, send the option that suits you best and start the second part of preparing for the party - decor!

HALL DECOR IN GREEK STYLE

Decor in Greek style - a huge space for imagination! Columns, branches of laurel and ivy, bas-reliefs, busts of gods - all this will become an excellent backdrop for your home Greek theater! And, by the way, you don’t have to buy heavy and bulky decorations! They can easily be made from fabric and papier-mâché!

It is important to beautifully decorate the entrance to the festive hall. Side tables and Greek balustrades different sizes you can rent it (if possible), or cut it out of long strips of white paper and paint it “under the columns” (which is much more economical).

And also a good effect of real transfer in time will help to create objects of ancient Greek ceramics. Vases, lamps, amphorae with characteristic designs should be placed on all free surfaces of the hall so that they are more often seen by guests.

If columns and vases do not appeal to you, you can decorate the room as the ancient Greek divine Olympus. To do this, decorate the ceiling and walls with a white light fabric and create blue lighting. This decor looks very stylish and expensive!

Among other things, the ceiling can be decorated with white “clouds” made of cotton wool and garland bulbs. Thanks to this decoration, your guests will have a feeling of belonging to the celestial beings from the first minute.

If you don’t particularly like “crystal snow-white,” you can add some contrasting tones to the decor of the festive hall. For example, throw gold, purple and burgundy fabrics on cabinets, chairs and sofas.

A couple of interesting three-dimensional “theatrical” pictures that can be used to decorate the walls of the hall will also add spice to the Greek holiday.

Also, don’t skimp on greenery and fresh flowers for decoration. Bouquets of roses, daisies, lilies, violets (white, gold, blue and purple) will look great in antique vases! Well, and besides everything else, living garlands of ivy, olive, and wild grape branches should certainly decorate your home!

And another interesting highlight is the letters of the Greek alphabet. Print out large letters from the internet, paint them gold and place them around the house. Let your guests think that these are the mysterious symbols of the ancient Greek world!

If the main line of the party is modern Greece, you can decorate the room with the blue and white flags of the “Olive State” or garlands of ribbons of the same color.

And also - you can place small ones throughout the house sofa cushions in tone with the overall decor and with a whimsical ornament characteristic of the culture of Greece.

You can also create a special altar on which you will make sacrifices to the mythical Olympian gods, turn a garden wheelbarrow into the chariot of the formidable Zeus and hang laurel wreaths for the winners of all kinds of battles. The main thing is to find a source of inspiration and a few more pairs hands free, whose owners will share with you both the inspiration and the work of decorating the festive hall!

FEAST TABLE DECOR IN GREEK STYLE

Decorations for festive table You also need to choose the tone of the era on which you want to focus the attention of guests during the holiday.

Tablecloth

If the main line of the entertainment part of the party is ancient Greece in all its glory, a linen tablecloth with “olive” embroidery will do.

If, on the contrary, your guests find themselves taking part in the events of the modern Greek state, you should lay a white and blue tablecloth with geometric patterns on the table.

Dishes

To serve treats to guests at a Greek-style party, you can use plain plates (gold, blue, white), and more expensive dishes with decorative antique paintings.

The center of the table can be decorated with laurel wreaths, antique lamps and elegant jugs to match the main dishes.

Candles

Candles will provide a cozy and romantic atmosphere at the table and will attract all the guests of your holiday to each other. In addition, for the inhabitants of Ancient Greece, a candle was always the main source of light in the house, a symbol of protecting the home from evil forces.

You can use both floating candles and thick paraffin candles in antique candelabra.

Or you can approach table lighting creatively by using pots with decorative flowers and berries instead of candlesticks.

The main thing in preparing for the Greek holiday is not to lose the main line of the era, the plot and not to “overdo it” with the decor. And also, when choosing statues and pictures for a party, do not confuse representatives of the Greek spiritual pantheon with the deities of other ancient states, so as not to look funny in the eyes of your guests! It is about the gods of Olympus and the possibility of reincarnation into them that we will talk about in our next article, dedicated to a party in the Greek style!

Every person on Earth at least once dreamed of becoming a god, omnipotent and omnipotent. Unfortunately, in real life this is impossible. But you can transform into the gods of, for example, Ancient Greece and plunge into the world of majesty and Olympic pathos. Thus, you can organize a great birthday surprise in Greek style. Moreover, with ancient Greek mythology Everyone has known each other since childhood, and even general superficial knowledge is enough to penetrate the atmosphere of antiquity.

First of all, in organizing this event it is worth dividing the roles and don’t forget. Fortunately, the Greek pantheon of gods allows you to choose the most suitable image for yourself, matching the characteristics of the hero and personal qualities. We provide a small list of gods to choose from, so that each invitee can find his own prototype of a god and create his unique image.

For girls:

  • Hera is the supreme goddess, wife of Zeus. She is the queen among greek gods, so her image needs to show greatness. A crown will add completeness to the look.
  • Athena is a wise warrior woman. Fair and serious, her image is perfectly complemented by a red toga and helmet.
  • Aphrodite is the goddess of love and beauty. Lightness and coquetry should be present in every movement.
  • Artemis is the goddess of the hunt and patroness of animals. A bow and arrow will be an integral attribute, and a toga with an animal print (leopard, tiger) and fur are allowed in the costume.
  • Persephone - goddess underground kingdom. She stands out against the backdrop of beautiful goddesses with a black toga and aggressive dark makeup.
  • Demeter - goddess of fertility and patroness Agriculture. She is calm, her image is as close to nature as possible.

For men:

  • Zeus is the main Olympian god. The obligatory details of his image are a trident that shoots lightning, a crown and a gorgeous beard. Zeus walked in a red or gold robe.
  • Ares is the god of war, the most courageous and fearless. A blood-colored toga and helmet are a must-have wardrobe item.
  • Poseidon - god water element. It has a changeable mood, just like the surface of the water. Toga of sea shades.
  • Eros is the god of love and desire. A strong and handsome seducer and conqueror of all women's hearts.
  • Apollo is the god of the arts, light and patron of the muses. A dreamer and a romantic, he is always in his own thoughts. A handsome long-haired young man with a wreath on his head.
  • Hades is the god of the kingdom of the dead. His image is not just gloomy, it is sinister and frightening.
  • Dionysus is the god of winemaking and the fruit-bearing forces of the earth. With a vine wreath on his head, he sings songs and enjoys life.

Next we decorate the room. The celebration hall should be in light colors (shades of white and gold), a lot of light is welcome. Gold and white candles, light flowing textiles with geometric patterns specific to Greece, laurel wreaths and an abundance of fresh flowers and green branches will also add Greek flavor. For a complete “relocation” to Olympus, print out posters of Greek landscapes and attach them to the walls.

Greeks prefer light but filling food. Therefore, the table should have an abundance of vegetables, seafood, olives and lean meat. And, of course, an abundance of wine in beautiful amphorae. Not only will it look beautiful, but also clay vessels drinks retain their freshness and coolness longer.

The ancient Greek gods did not like to be bored, they had a lot of all kinds of entertainment: the Olympic Games, theaters, gladiator fights, the battle of the gods for supremacy - from this list you can create interesting competitions that are suitable specifically for your company. It is advisable that guests behave in accordance with their chosen roles during the entire event (when congratulating the birthday person, when participating in competitions, during personal conversations). At the end of the holiday, you can learn the national Greek dance - sirtaki.
