Individual features of minimalism and loft harmoniously merged in the interior design of a 1-room apartment.

Information about the apartment: one-room apartment with an area of 39 sq.m. in a 9-story building.

Apartment owners: a young couple.

Customer wishes: Maximize your living space.

Plan studio apartment.

The owners of this apartment decided to abandon the currently fashionable combination of two multi-purpose areas - the kitchen and the living room. Designer Anton Chasovikov was asked to maximize the existing space with the help of stylish interior design. The designer decided to take two styles as a starting point - minimalism and.

What came of it? Whitewashed and textured brickwork, a minimum of interior items, strict geometric shapes, and a restrained color scheme. To transform the apartment, the designer used the winning features of two modern styles to free up space as much as possible and make it comfortable for a young modern couple to live in.

To open up access to natural light, window sills and doors leading to the loggia were removed from the kitchen and living room. Instead, they installed floor-to-ceiling doors—sliding doors in the living room and hinged doors in the kitchen. This radically changed the design of a 1-room apartment.

The graphic nature of the interior is emphasized by the black and white color scheme and geometric furniture shapes. The smooth contours of the chair slightly smooth out the severity of the decor.

The combination of whitewashed and deliberately aged textured brick affects the dynamics of the interior.

The refrigerator is placed on the insulated loggia. This made it possible to unload the kitchen space.

Wide window sills on the balcony turned it into a kind of observation deck.

The bathroom is distinguished by a laconic finish: checkerboard flooring, white trim, light green accents.

Luxury, pomp, and abundance of decor in the interior have been replaced by modern styles, which sometimes use unusual techniques and elements as means of expression. It would seem, what kind of comfort can we talk about in a space made of bare brick walls, wires or crossbars? But it’s not for nothing that loft-style apartment design continues to gain popularity, proving its diversity and variability. The projects we have selected are proof of this!

1. Interior of a two-story loft-style apartment

This apartment has two floors and three rooms. I can’t even believe that it was intended for the bachelor life of a bank employee who non-working hours wants to relax and feel freedom. The classic loft, born on these principles, was ideal for creating the desired atmosphere.

The project, located in the Zapadnoe Kuntsevo residential complex, was carried out by designers from the E-l-ement studio. The area of the apartment is not so large - 84 sq.m., but the ceiling height, which varies from 2.5 to 5 m., allowed the authors to implement several interesting solutions in the interior.

As befits a loft, the layout is open, including a combined living room, kitchen, and dining room. The presence of high ceilings prompted the designers to create a second floor, which helped isolate sleeping area from other areas without losing the feeling of spaciousness. A wooden curved staircase leads to this level.

Brickwork is used as finishing, which is balanced by white panels. The interior looks quite cozy, mainly due to the abundance of wooden elements.

2. Loft-style apartment for a young couple

The owners of this apartment initially knew that a loft style would be perfect for their personal space, only in a special interpretation. Designers from the JuicyHall studio had to listen carefully to the wishes of the young couple. The result is a project with a unique aesthetic, which once again proves the importance of complete trust between the contractor and the customer.

The Moscow apartment has small area- 45 sq.m., but it turned out that with the right approach and this is quite enough for a comfortable life. Moreover, the original layout was the reason for the implementation unusual idea— integrate the bathroom into the open space of the studio, which is common in the interiors of modern hotels.

At first, the designers suggested sticking with the classic interpretation of the loft, leaving the concrete ceilings and aging the brickwork of the walls. But the clients insisted on more decorative approach. As a result, the walls turned out white, and concrete was used to decorate the ceiling. This way the small apartments were filled with air and space, acquiring a neat appearance.

The housing is created on the principle of functionality and includes the following areas: a kitchen, a bedroom separated from it by a wall, a living room, a dressing room, a bathroom, and a hallway. The sofa serves as a partition between the two areas.

During the renovation, minor and sometimes major problems had to be resolved. For example, when they brought kitchen set, it turned out that due to an oversight by the foreman, it simply did not fit the dimensions of the space. But the designers were not at a loss and suggested making brick half-columns by placing an I-beam on them. It turned out even better than planned.

3. Interior design of an apartment in loft style, Moscow

Many people think that a loft is brutality and audacity, but design studio Verdiz, with the help of just one project, showed the variability of solutions while preserving key features. The interior turned out to be very bright, elegant, even noble, and all this on 50 sq.m.!

To rationally organize a small space, the bathroom was reduced, making it possible to place a large wardrobe with a stunning stained glass facade in the hallway. This is a multifunctional piece of furniture that further separates the hallway from the living area.

The apartment consists of one room, which, thanks to the zoning principle, contains a living room and a bedroom. The kitchen layout has a slightly rounded geometry. Almost all the walls are used here, serving as support for compact furniture.

The loft was “softened” by the unobtrusive interweaving of another style - fusion, which was embodied in bright decorative elements that enliven the whiteness brickwork, as well as the grayness of the concrete. At the same time, there was also room for art objects that convey the feeling of modern classics.

4. Apartment design in loft style, Magnitogorsk

The author of the project, Anton Sukharev, claims that this is a rare case when the interior reflects the interests of the owner, embodied in small details. And although the designer had to work with a modest budget, the result looks modern and stylish. It was the loft that helped create the right feeling with limited finances.

Apartment with an area of 72 sq.m. designed according to the openspace principle. The hallway is fenced off from the living room wooden structure, serving as ample storage space. LED strips in silicone boxes they are built under a plywood block on the ceiling, where all the transformers are also hidden. A decorative partition separates the kitchen and living area without creating obstacles to the free penetration of light.

The brickwork discovered during the renovation was painted in White color. We also managed to save money on the heating system, which was not changed, since it fit perfectly into the style of the loft. Almost all the furniture is made to order and has its own history: some items were created “bit by bit”, others were purchased profitably at a flea market.

5. Loft-style apartment for a young couple, Tyumen

The interior of this multi-level apartment was designed by designer Ekaterina Skorokhodova, who managed to create a dream home for a creative couple. High ceilings helped add to the 90 sq.m. additional space 14 sq.m.

The only obstacle to realizing the loft style was the lack of beautiful, open brickwork, but it was possible to imitate it with the help of high-quality decorative tiles. Other walls are painted white, against which paintings and other decorative elements look good. Bright accent- a large Indian panel, the shades of which set the color scheme of the space.

To heat such a large area, a massive heating system is usually used, but the designer selected compact metal convectors that became a decoration of the interior. But the main “attraction” of the apartment is rightfully considered to be the high windows, which open up a beautiful view of the city and let required amount Sveta.

In order to preserve the feeling of spaciousness that the apartment is endowed with, it was decided to go with a functional set. Thus, kitchen cabinets are installed in two rows, the top of which is used for storing non-essential items.

The sliding barn doors in the kitchen area, which were used instead of ordinary ones, look unusual. Behind them is a guest room with a utility room. In general, the interior looks luxurious and even fabulous, conveying the atmosphere of ancient castles.

6. Authentic loft with French charm

The designer of this apartment was the owner himself, Gregory Lesterlen, a businessman from France who spends a lot of time in Russia. Having good taste and solid travel experience, the owner was able to decorate the interior according to his requirements, filling the furnishings of the USSR era with unique items from Paris itself.

The layout of the 69-meter apartment was changed almost completely, destroying everything possible walls. During the renovation, it was discovered that the brickwork, which dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, was in good condition, which prompted Gregory to introduce loft elements.

The apartment has a bedroom, a separate bathroom, a dressing room, an open living room with an office, and a kitchen, which includes an unusual bar counter in a niche. Discovered antiques wooden beams They were not thrown away, but used as decoration for the ceiling.

The result is an atmospheric apartment with history, which the owner has preserved and updated.

7. Apartment design in loft style, 225 m2

In this interior, the designers from MKInterio managed to move away from the usual interpretation of the loft and create a gentle, calm design, fortunately there is plenty of space to implement any ideas.

It was decided to leave the enfilade interior layout: the hallway is followed by a kitchen, followed by a living room, and then private areas with bathrooms. This allows you to diversify the design of the apartment, adding new features to each room.

The kitchen is decorated with plywood structures that stand out against the brickwork with light textures and colors. The metal beams were left unchanged, but a soundproofing system was built between them.

Decorative green shutters highlight the tall windows. To visually increase the space of the bedroom, long mirrors were placed on one of the walls. Despite the fact that the palette of the apartment is a little muted, the interior looks light and spacious.

8. Three-room apartment in loft style

The customers got an apartment from the 1970s with all the design flaws characteristic of buildings of those years: a small kitchen, a separate bathroom, an impractical corridor. So the designers from the Odnushechka bureau had to solve these problems along with the design.

What remained of the large corridor was a small hallway, and the rest square meters“joined” the living room space. The brickwork under the plaster, necessary for the style, turned out to be unaesthetic, so we had to resort to imitation, using clay tiles as finishing. The loft feeling was enhanced by the introduction of textured furniture, such as a worn leather sofa, metal shelving, and items made of aged wood. The sofa and dining areas are separated by a mirror partition.

The kitchen was left the same size, attached to the common space and equipped functional furniture. Bright colors were added to the children's room, while maintaining the loft features with the help of a modular set and a dark wooden floor. The main bedroom was decorated using the same principle, adding a painted brick wall.

High walls, deliberate negligence in their decoration, exposed engineering columns, the presence of roughly processed ceiling beams, create a different format. The meaning of a loft is initially hidden in the meaning of the word translated as attic, and implies the arrangement of former industrial facilities for housing. Today, democratic design is designed for free artists who want to express themselves and clearly protest against stereotypes and stylistic rules. In general and in particular, the nuances of decor reflect the preferences and character of the owners. The idea of the concept is maximum freedom and comfort at moderate costs.

What is the difference between a loft design and a studio apartment, since there are so many similarities in the organization of open space? Everything, except for two points: the absence of walls and the principle of dividing the area into functional segments. The trend towards practicality and rationalism today has transformed into an active desire of many to replace the orderliness of everyday life with open shelves with a demonstration of their contents.

Observation windows, the absence of static partitions, curtain draperies, uncomplicated plank flooring, and lack of focus on shapes and color harmony sometimes cause mixed reactions. And bold disregard for conventions speaks volumes about the desire modern man to internal and external freedom. Let's take a closer look at the principles of materializing an adventurous idea, touching on the topic of privacy, issues of acoustics, and storage systems.

Planning and zoning

Columns made of brick, concrete or lined artificial stone, symmetrically located on the sides in the equipment of the lamps, conditionally demarcate the perimeter. It is also known that manipulating the structural part of the arch gives different results. In one embodiment, it acts as a decorative component between the supports, and does not come into contact with the lower plane. With unobtrusive double-sided framing of the walls, the structure is designed to match accent wall, and usually duplicates brickwork, although other versions are allowed.

Furniture groups are arranged differently, but away from the walls and in all positions they clearly outline the resting place. The backs of sofas and armchairs visibly mark the boundaries. The carpet underfoot is another decorative argument in favor of clear zoning. A similar impression is made by a stone podium, a high platform with steps between zones and finishing to match the walls. Their height varies from 5 cm and above. In the bedroom area, such a design under the bed simultaneously solves the utilitarian problem of storing things. Drawers on runners or rollers in the bowels of the structure they resemble sections of a chest of drawers.

It is possible to integrate the kitchen into the living room design using a bar counter and high chairs. The dividing strip in this option will be the floor covering and the table line. It is quite appropriate to replace the scraped wooden floor of the front part with practical tiles that imitate the texture of the boards, more practical for this block. To ensure that kitchen modules organically grow into the loft space, choose facades with metal, combined finishes, artificially aged ones, or opt for open shelving. One of the mandatory requirements is to equip the kitchen with gadgets. This applies in general household appliances. A home cinema, in the kitchen area there is an impressive refrigerator, a stove with a shiny metal surface, rows of electrical “helpers” are relevant for a loft. By the way, the series “Friends” is an on-screen example of demonstrating a kitchen in this concept

The loft is marked by the absence of spacious closets, with rare exceptions when a long structure serves as a partition. Floor hangers are used instead of wardrobes. Mobile structures are equipped with wheels and can easily change their location.

For this purpose, shelves with plants, credenza, buffet or long shelves placed perpendicular to the wall are used. The shelves are open for viewing.

The functional task of organizing and storing things is performed by numerous bookcases, chests of drawers, and furniture sections. The issue is resolved much easier by using the upper floor. The niche under the stairs is equipped with rows of shelves, and the result of the process is a spacious dressing room. The presence of stairs in a duplex space is not surprising. They can be light and elegant - made of aluminum profile and glass. The designs are more thoroughly represented by the marching version.

Rationalism and creativity

A surefire way to organize personal space is to equip a niche or alcove. The border will probably be marked using screen walls made of wood panels or plasterboard, the size of the height. If compact tabletops are placed on opposite sides of the separating rack, two workspaces are created at once. The solution is also relevant for children.

Of course, it makes sense to have sliding structures that help you adapt the space to your needs as comfortably as possible. Since the idea itself excludes walls and, in principle, does not advocate privacy, support the personal desire to abstract from the world with the help of other structures. These are opaque light screens with frosted glass or Japanese shoji made of rice paper. Glass verticals are allowed to be movable, carry a specific aesthetic load, and transform into invisible side panels.

An interesting version is a moving system in the form of slides. They are often produced in unusual modifications. Models that follow the shape of the door and frame, galvanized with steel or coated with copper, are unique to the loft. It makes sense to mount it on the ceiling plastic panels, which will perfectly cope with the task.

Don't let the volume, area and acoustics confuse you. The correct arrangement of furniture groups and lighting will successfully adjust the work areas and relaxation corner. Due to the fact that the scale of the perimeter dully echoes the sound vibrations of the voice, it is worth turning to textile attributes, carpets on the floor, an abundance of sofa cushions. Echoes are leveled out by soft panels in the bedroom area or special acoustic mats.

We create the interior

When equipping a room with functional items, you should rely on your taste and purchase the items you like. Loft style is due big amount seats, so there are never too many sofas, chairs, benches. The idea is characterized by dimensions furniture that does not “dissolve” in a full-size space. The scale of the interior exhibitions on display does not prevent it from being compensated by elegant attributes of modest sizes and different configurations. Pillows, a long table with multi-level light, and linear elongation of furniture pieces can handle this.

Furniture without much pretentiousness in decoration would be appropriate. Dark and light, metal, wicker, combined facades, bright contrasts, dissonant combinations. Chromed metal and glass coffee table, band made of worn leather upholstered furniture, vintage chests along with a colorful tapestry will easily fit into the living room segment. Rarity and modern exclusive are tolerant of mutual proximity. A soft purple pouf will take root in the same area with red sofas and multi-colored pillows. The dominant color scheme for the loft is considered to be gray-blue.

It is not customary to use central lighting as the main one. The chandelier in the middle of the room scatters light across the ceiling, and from a lower angle the viewing angle constantly shifts upward, ignoring the interior exposure. For this reason, they create a different scenario with independent sources of lighting for the zones. The version with tires is considered ideal. Original lighting will accurately convey the industrial atmosphere.

Metal pipes combined with brick look especially impressive against the backdrop of shiny bathroom accessories. Expensive plumbing fixtures look wonderful against the background of a rare white installation. The symbiosis of brick and marble cladding interestingly rhymes with vintage taps, the whiteness of a modern bowl with the fragmentary participation of wood. Whatever modern materials did not prevail in the cladding; a couple of strokes and architectural features still indicate belonging to the style.

Loft style decor

Combine without hesitation different directions and do not be afraid of the results of creativity. The stylistic unconditionality of the loft is tolerant of the participation of classics in tandem with fashionable concepts, and allows for unexpected combinations. So, if the classic group is supplemented with a dazzlingly bright armchair that does not overlap with the main set either in color or shape, the impression will not suffer at all.

It is permissible to leave the wall uncoated. Gray concrete or red brick is a special feature of the loft. Bright posters, black and white photographic displays, hanging shelves with small objects perfectly decorate the vertical. For some color, place jars with buttons on them, wine corks, colored pebbles, bugles, bamboo sticks or fill the vessels as you wish. Colorful accessories and their quantity have a great influence on the decor. Vases different colors and textures are completed in groups or placed individually. Despite the unpretentiousness of the design, an urban style can be seen in the paintings.

Still lifes, as well as dishes placed in the depths of the shelves, are distributed randomly along the walls and will come in handy not only in the dining area. We also remember the presence of graffiti and abstractions that do not have to be hung in the usual order. They can simply be leaned against the wall. Suitable for especially creative people road signs, old tanks instead flower pots, hanging gears and other futuristic versions. An indoor greenhouse or zen garden will add naturalness and create a light atmosphere. Just don’t clutter the window sills with them, so as not to impede the maximum penetration of light. For this reason, window drapery is rejected.

Loft – design without pretensions

Intimate conversations about art, sometimes loud, sometimes muffled music, dim diffuse light and the doorbell rings again: this is a new guest with an original outlook on life. This is how we let into our lives the freedom-loving and free-flowing loft style, which is unusual for conservative individuals. It became popular not today or the day before yesterday, so the editors of the online magazine site again return to the “attic” life of America of the last century and offer to learn more about what a loft-style apartment is.

If we translate the word “loft” from in English, then you can easily understand why the style is called attic, because the word itself means “attic”. Industrial New York, having survived the 30s and vigorously stepped into the rise of the 40s, was faced with the problem of a jump in prices for city land, especially in the center. Therefore the owners industrial plants were forced to withdraw manufacturing process closer to the outskirts of the city. In their place came local bohemia - artists, musicians, actors.

Loft style lighting

There should be a lot of light, but it should not hit the eyes. Diverse lighting is obtained due to numerous lamps located in a special way - the light also zones the space.

The lighting sources used are chandeliers, suspended structures, spots, LED lights, sconces, floor lamps.

Accessories in loft style

Loft-style decor dots all the i’s. These are original and bold items that create that very bohemian atmosphere, turning a factory premises into a residential one.

The main thing in choosing accessories is to make an accent and maintain the feeling of spaciousness in the room, not overloaded with small details.

Decorating different rooms of an apartment in loft style

Arrange a room in loft style in ordinary apartment not as difficult as it seems. This option is suitable for those people who, for various reasons, cannot buy a two-level or very spacious home in order to furnish the entire apartment in their favorite style. We suggest considering methods and options for decorating different living rooms under loft.

Hallway and living room

The house begins in the hallway, so it makes sense to pay close attention to it. In an ordinary apartment, this is not always a multi-meter room, but we don’t need much. If the hallway is small, the brick and wall decoration should not be overly dark. Although lovers of twilight may argue with this. Here, as they say, it's a matter of taste.

Massive wardrobes are not frequent guests in the loft, so utility rooms, storage spaces in sofas, and hanging inconspicuous mezzanines are used.

The loft-style hall will be the center of the apartment, so you need to choose the most comfortable and suitable furniture. The most difficult thing is choosing the colors of upholstered furniture: no floral patterns, ruffles, or flounces. Where did you see appropriate floral patterns in the factory? Even though we are talking about arranging a residential apartment, once we have started to match the design, we need to go to the end.

Study and bedroom

An office in the loft style looks interesting: it does not look like a home, but there is no impression that it is an office. This is truly a workshop for a master of thought, words, and pen. You can convert any room into an office, and not necessarily the largest one in the apartment.

The design of a loft-style bedroom involves a certain amount of textiles: usually a carpet, bed sheets, bedspread, pillows and curtains.

The bed can be metal or wood, light or massive. All textiles should be both invisible and an irreplaceable stylish accessory.

Kitchen and bathroom in a loft style apartment

Setting up a kitchen is the hardest thing to do: no storage drawers kitchen utensils getting by is problematic, and choosing the right furniture set is not always easy.

The bathroom and toilet also claim a special atmosphere.

Planning and zoning of a loft-style studio

Holders small apartment or studios can also decorate it in a loft style. The difficulty lies not so much in the small footage, but in the lighting: most often in the studio there is one, less often two small windows. The way out would be clear zoning according to the frequency of use of the zones. If the owner most time in the house prefers to cook, it is a priority dinner Zone with kitchen. Therefore, the kitchen area is located near the window. Do you spend a lot of time working? This means that a desktop is placed under the window.

In the middle of the 20th century, in the large industrial centers of the American continent, a design style emerged that stood out noticeably from all others. “Loft” - translated from English means “attic”, and this word accurately characterizes the original design of the home.

Characteristics of the loft style

The “attic” style of interior design originated in North America in the 50s of the last century, when prices for land and comfortable apartments began to rise sharply and became unaffordable for large quantities residents of megacities. Students, young people and people of liberal professions, such as artists and musicians, especially suffered from the inability to live comfortably. Then the idea was born to use empty production workshops for housing.

The young people living in them were not bothered by the construction of interior partitions and expensive wall decoration. All interior items were made from scrap materials or were purchased for free on occasion. Hence the name of the style and the strange interior of the home.

Today, the loft style is often used in the interior of a studio apartment. Main character traits loft:

  • Complete absence of interior partitions and doors. The only exception is the separation of the bathroom from the rest of the room.
  • Characteristic wall decoration: they are not carefully decorated and not leveled. The deliberate rawness of the walls is welcomed, and few know that rough brickwork is a carefully processed construction material or its imitation. Textured plaster, other modern Decoration Materials, and not the cheapest, can create an imitation of unkempt walls.
  • A mandatory element of the loft style is the presence of open pipes and utilities. Pipes, heating radiators and ventilation hoods are displayed as a means of stylization. This is typical not only for the kitchen or bathroom - pipes and radiators are not hidden even in the sleeping area.

The loft interior in the interior of the apartment puts maximum functionality of the room at the forefront. Since there are no partitions in the apartment, it is important to properly zone the space.

The means of zoning are:

Huge sofa - required attribute stylization and functional piece of furniture. It is usually used to separate the living area and the kitchen.

A bar counter is often installed for the same purpose. An interesting fact is that adherents of the “attic” style do not refuse modern kitchen and other household appliances, and in the interior central place can be occupied by a huge plasma panel.

The loft style does not accept modern furniture walls And closed cabinets: shelves and racks serve as a place to store things and at the same time can separate areas of the apartment: for example, you can allocate a place for sleeping by installing a screen or a rack with books.

Loft style room decoration

The loft-style apartment project involves demolition internal partitions: therefore, before starting repairs, it is necessary to agree on the possibility of their removal and creation single space. In apartments where interior walls They are load-bearing and cannot be demolished.

It is more convenient to create a loft style in an ordinary apartment when purchasing housing in a new building with rough finishing. Then you don’t have to create an artificial imitation of brickwork and build a new one: it will be enough to process brick wall antiseptic drugs and special means that will protect the stone from destruction. You can coat the brick with matte varnish.

The floor should be wood or stone. In the first case, parquet patterns are excluded; it is better to use regular wooden board. Tile - a natural stone or its imitation of natural shades. Categorically excluded plastic windows- only wooden frames, which it is advisable not to cover with curtains.

In the kitchen and bathroom, pipes should be left open. Modern polypropylene pipes When renovating in a loft style, it is better not to use it: traditional options are more suitable here cast iron pipes and heating batteries. The hood also needs to be made simple, without frills.

Looking at the photo of a loft-style apartment, it is striking that in the absence of any special frills in the design of the room, the space turns out to be harmonious and cozy. It is best to create stylization in spacious rooms with high ceilings. Adherents of the loft style consider freedom to be their main life principle.

Comfort and coziness of a loft-style apartment

Proclaimers of freedom can create a comfortable and cozy living space without expensive furniture, luxurious carpets and ceremonial dinnerware. Furniture in the loft style resembles objects collected from different places and brought into the house. One brought a chair with him, the other brought one he found along the way. wooden box, which will serve the owners as a table.

The huge sofa, which is installed in the middle, can be old and shabby, or it can be covered with expensive leather, as if it is the only pride of the owners.

Deliberate carelessness in details is deceptive. Every element of styling is carefully thought out, including the selection of furniture. Today, many furniture companies produce loft-style furniture: comfortable and unusual, but meeting the needs of the owners.

It’s not difficult to create a loft style in a small apartment, although the lack of free space will be noticeable. Therefore, you need to limit yourself to purchasing only the most necessary furniture in order to maintain a feeling of spaciousness in a small home:

  • a transforming sofa can replace a bed for sleeping at night;
  • a bar counter separating the living room from the kitchen area will replace the dining table;
  • racks will become a place for storing things, and clothes can be placed on the wall on hangers and hooks or stored on a vertical moving rack.

Several photos in simple frames on the walls, desk lamp with a lampshade, a simple carpet on the floor - with their help, the interior of a one-room apartment in the loft style will be harmonious and complete, no less functional than a spacious house.

The unusual and spectacular “attic” style gives rise to many ideas for creating in the house harmonious interior. Everyone has their own understanding of the word “comfort,” but those who love freedom, reject banality and traditional ideas about life, who are used to being limited to little, feel great in such a home.
